In the distance, the city lights shifted silently. Neither of them spoke for a moment, letting the swing rock gently in the breeze.
Annelise Valentine gazed at the endless sea of lights, her voice soft, as if she were talking to herself. "Sometimes I feel like... these lights look warm, but they're all so far away."
"Valentine. It doesn't matter if the lights are far away. As long as I'm here, no matter how big Aethelgard is or how distant the lights are, there will always be a place for you."
She asked softly, "Are you confessing your feelings to me?"
Jett Westgate turned his head, his gaze landing on her face. "Yes."
A faint smile spread across Annelise Valentine's eyes. "Alright, I accept your confession."
Jett Westgate retorted slowly, "That's it? Aren't you going to show some appreciation?"
At his words, Annelise Valentine turned her head and gave him a light kiss on the cheek. "How's that?"
