Annelise Valentine arched an eyebrow, finding the whole thing utterly absurd.
"The Westgate family broke off our engagement?" she repeated, her tone less a question and more a confirmation of an outrageous rumor.
'I'm the one who doesn't want to marry him, okay?!'
'How are these rumors getting more and more ridiculous?!'
As everyone watched, she turned to look back at Jett Westgate. "Hey, what was your name again?"
He looked down at her and answered without the slightest hesitation, "Jett Westgate."
Annelise Valentine nodded in satisfaction and turned back to the completely dumbfounded Vera Lynn and her friends. Her chin lifted slightly, and her red lips curled into a smile that was both radiant and utterly dominant.
"Listen closely. His name… is Jett. Westgate." She enunciated each word, as if afraid they were hard of hearing.
While their minds were still reeling, Annelise Valentine crooked her index finger at Jett Westgate.
"Jett, come here. Lean in."
