"Will you fall for someone else?"
Preston Keaton paused, lowering his gaze to look at her intently.
The woman in his arms truly didn't seem to trust him at all. Her lips were pressed tightly together. She looked a little obedient, but her words and actions did nothing to please him.
"Don't you trust me?"
Preston Keaton stared at her, asking patiently while gently holding her hand. His gaze was calm and deep, yet held a cold detachment. He didn't wait for her answer.
"Darling, I've exhausted every trick and method to keep you by my side. Do you really think I'd waste that kind of effort on anyone else?"
Evelyn Grant opened her mouth, her throat suddenly dry. "I..."
"I'm a very busy man; I don't have time for such things. If you hadn't come into my life, the thought of having a girlfriend or getting married would have never even crossed my mind," Preston Keaton said, his voice steady. "Other people don't have to believe me, but you do. Understand?"
