Having been through the wringer, Qiao An had no energy to mess around with the Black Panther and just plopped down by the bonfire.
"You two, stop messing around. I'm starving…"
Due to her peculiar constitution, Qiao An grew exceptionally weak when hungry. She didn't want to waste any more energy in a standoff with these two.
Seeing Qiao An's pitiful state, lying weakly on the sand, the wild rabbit's resolve wavered. It poked its head forward and repeatedly nuzzled her face with its fluffy ears.
"Human, I'll go find some wild fruit for you! It's really good. The humans before used to pick it all the time!"
The wild rabbit hopped away, but the Black Panther remained, squatting across from Qiao An and launching into a deadly game of twenty questions.
"Human, why do you speak the same language as me?"
The matter was a little complicated, and Qiao An had no idea where to begin explaining. So, she just kept playing dead.
