Amelia's POV
"Knock knock" a sound came from the door and the voice of my maid drifted into the room " ma'am breakfast is ready".
"Okay Nanny Rita I will be down in few minutes " I said from behind the door, she replied faintly and I could hear her footsteps drifting from the door.
I've been living in this house for 11 months and 24 days now , I was forced into this marriage to save my family from bankruptcy.
My husband Albert Horman was a well known business tycoon, but our marriage wasn't made public, I could vividly remember the day I was excourted back to this house his whole family was present everyone treated me with hostility except his grandma and his dad who consented to the marriage, there was also rumors that he had a childhood sweetheart.....
I trailed before snapping out of my thoughts, I came down from my bed gently so I could avoid spraining my ankle, before stepping into the bathroom it was as big as my room at my father's house and I was already used to that now, I took my bath, got dressed in a knee length skirt and an off shoulder top, with a pair of flats, I styled my bum length hair into a ponytail, combed my brows before staring at my reflection, I was 5'7 tall with a slender figure and I was thick at the right places , my hazel eyes shone brightly from the reflection of the morning sun coming from the window, I quickly snapped out of it and made my way downstairs.
My breakfast was already prepared on the dinning I quickly sat down and started digging in, nanny Rita stepped in and handed me some pills and a glass of warm water.
"Ma'am sir.." I quickly interrupted her "it's Amelia nanny" I said calmly , I have been telling her to call me by my name buh she always seems to forget I just shrugged it off.
" Amelia sir said I should tell you to take this pills after you are through with ur breakfast" I stared at those already knowing what there were, post pills it was nothing new I've been taking them from the first day Nathanial took me to bed, tho we weren't that close but a was a little bit warm with me I guess he's just a cold person.
I quickly finished my breakfast, took the pills before heading out my driver was already waiting at the drive way for me I got in took my phone and texted my best friend Nina to meet me at our favourite cafe. I could catch the driver staring at me from the windscreen, " ma'am are we going directly to the gallery" he asked " no Simone take me to the Cafe I always visit" he nodded before going silent, well I never really communicated with anyone at the ville except with Nanny Rita and Simone and it can't really be called a conversation I shrug.
"Ma'am we are here already" he alerted me I told him thank you and quickly came down from the car, as I turned to leave "what time would I be picking you up or should I wait at the garage " he asked I turned to stare at him inside the black bmw X5. " I think you should head home i will come back myself " "but...." He tried to say , I know your boss said I shouldn't be left alone I will be fyn it's an order get going" I said before turning to leave.
I stepped into the cafe, Nina hasn't arrived I quickly picked a table close to the window, a waiter worked over and I ordered for a glass of cappuccino, I was gently sipping my cappuccino when Nina walked in she spotted before strutting to my table, "hey Mrs Howard she said lowly" and i her a sharp look and she burst out laughing," sorry for keeping you waiting I had something to do at the gallery, so what's up what did you say you wanted to talk about last night " she asked " well I'm tired of being a sit at home wife I want to intern at alberts company, you know I've always been into jewelry designs " , she stared at me for sometime before voicing out " well that's a nice suggestion but have you spoken to him yet" .
" Yh I did he said he had no problem with that but I won't be entering into the company as Mrs Howard I will be going as "Miss Amelia " she looked at me with a complicated look " that's a weird idea you guys are married " .
"I know but this is the only shot I got into making my dreams of being a jewelry designer come through " I said to her softly.
" I still don't know why he has refused to acknowledge your relationship tho " I shrugged well I have no problem with that as long as he's not into any scandals whereas he treats me well enough." I stated, she smirked then we continued talking about anything under the sun before her phone vibrated, she picked it up " I will be back in a minute let me quickly answer this" I nodded as she turned to leave, Nina has been my best friend since high school, her parents weren't exactly well to do like mine, but they loved her to bits , she was on the petite side not as tall as me, with forest green eyes and short black hair with bangs.
Well the moment she left I picked up my phone and started scrolling, when a message came from Lia's collection, "miss actor fei Loved the two piece jewelry set you made it's all over the internet "
I quickly went and truly to her words My design was on the red carpet, my brand was being mentioned, I was smiling sheepishly at my phone when Nina walked in.
" Hey why are you grinning like someone who just won the lottery", "well yes I did I looked at her smiling my design just got to the red carpet ". She stared at me blankly " your design?" She asked " yes my design I opened a brand few months back " I've always wanted to tell you but it always skips my mind".
She looked at me with a hurt expression " I thought we were sisters Lia?" She asked I felt bad " I'm sorry I've always wanted to tell you but everytime something always comes up, I promise to make it up to you" I told her she looked at me and nodded.
Before my phone started vibrating it was a call from Albert (my husband) I quickly excused myself and went outside to pick the call.
"Hello" a thick velvety voice flowed out "where are you" he said,
"I'm a cafe with Nina" I responded.
"Okay I just called to tell you that Dad called to invite us for dinner at the house this evening, your driver will drop you off there this evening, then I will meet you there okay?" He added "yes okay with me" I replied, before I could say anything more he quickly ended the call, I just stood there for a second before turning to head inside.
