The front gates of the Night City were closed tight.

Guards stood in front of the heavy iron doors.

They held long spears and laughed with each other.

Hestia marched right up to them.

She didn't look scared at all.

"Open the gates!"

Hestia commanded loudly.

"Go away, little Goddess,"

A guard laughed at her.

"This is Ishtar's territory."

Welf didn't wait for another word.

He stepped forward and swung his large red sword.

*Clang!*

The iron gate broke in half.

The heavy metal doors crashed onto the stone street.

The guards yelled in surprise.

They dropped their spears.

The war had officially started.

"Push them back!"

An Amazon captain shouted from down the street.

Dozens of Amazon fighters ran out of the buildings.

They carried sharp swords and heavy axes.

They looked angry.

"Form a line!"

Welf yelled to his team.

"Don't let them surround us!"

Lili raised her heavy crossbow.

She fired quickly.

An arrow pinned an Amazon's sleeve to a wooden post.

"Take cover, Goddess Hestia!"

Lili warned.

Hestia stood firmly behind Welf.

"We're not leaving without Bell!"

The Amazons charged forward like a wild stampede.

Mikoto reached into her pouch.

She threw three smoke bombs at the ground.

The street instantly filled with thick, gray clouds.

The Amazons coughed and stopped running.

Chigusa used her short daggers.

She blocked an incoming attack and kicked an Amazon away into the smoke.

But it was hard.

There were just too many enemies.

"There are too many of them!"

Welf grunted loudly.

He blocked two swords at the exact same time.

His arms shook from the weight.

"We have to hold the line!"

Mikoto called out.

She parried a spear thrust and flipped backward.

More Amazons poured out from the taverns and towers.

"Look at them,"

A tall Amazon laughed cruelly.

"Just a few weak kids and a poor Goddess. Crush them all!"

They raised their weapons high.

They prepared to end the fight.

Suddenly, a massive burst of wind blew through the narrow street.

The gray smoke cleared instantly.

Elias stood perfectly still in the middle of the street.

He held his black naginata.

He looked completely calm.

Dee stood right next to him.

She held a comically large wooden hammer.

She pulled it from nowhere.

"You started the party without us,"

Elias said smoothly.

"Elias!"

Hestia cheered.

She threw her hands in the air.

"Master Elias!"

Mikoto smiled in deep relief.

Elias looked at the massive army of Amazons blocking the road.

"Take Hestia and go find Bell,"

Elias told Welf without looking back.

"We will hold them here."

"Are you sure?"

Welf asked.

He wiped sweat from his forehead.

"There are over a hundred of them."

"Numbers don't matter,"

Elias said.

He walked forward.

Slowly.

The Amazons looked at him in confusion.

"Who is this skinny guy?"

One Amazon asked.

"He is just one man! Get him!"

The captain ordered angrily.

Ten Amazons rushed at Elias at once.

They attacked from all sides.

Elias didn't even take a proper battle stance.

He just kept walking.

He swung his naginata with one hand.

It was a very simple swing.

But it was perfectly timed.

It chained his movements together without a single wasted breath.

The black curved blade hit all ten incoming weapons in a blur of motion.

*Crack!*

The weapons shattered into useless metal pieces.

The Amazons froze in shock.

Elias kicked the empty air.

A invisible wave of force hit their chests and knocked them all backward.

They crashed heavily into the stone walls.

"My turn!"

Dee shouted happily.

She jumped high into the dark air.

She swung her newly made giant wooden hammer down hard.

She didn't hit a person.

She hit the ground.

The entire street shook violently.

The stone cracked open.

Dozens of Amazons fell to their knees.

They couldn't keep their balance.

"What is that strength?"

The captain gasped.

"She is a total monster!"

"I am Dee,"

Dee corrected her with a bright smile.

Elias moved again.

He became a blur of shadows.

He didn't use giant, flashy magic.

He used pure, calculated skill.

An Amazon thrust a spear directly at his chest.

Elias simply stepped to the side.

He tapped her wrist lightly.

Her hand went numb and she dropped the spear.

He hit the back of her neck with the blunt wood of his weapon.

She passed out instantly.

Three more attackers jumped from behind him.

Elias spun around smoothly.

He didn't even look.

The naginata knocked their legs out from under them in one fluid motion.

He fought like he was playing a game.

Every step had a clear purpose.

Every swing found a weak spot.

He parried, dodged, and struck without pausing for a single second.

"Don't fight him one by one!"

The captain yelled in panic.

"Attack him together! Overwhelm him!"

Fifty Amazons roared and charged at the exact same time.

They formed a solid wall of angry warriors.

Elias finally stopped walking.

He took a slow, deep breath.

"Sweep,"

Elias said softly.

He spun his weapon in a wide, full circle.

A sharp ring of dark, heavy energy burst outward from the blade.

It hit the charging army directly.

The Amazons flew backward like dry leaves caught in a hurricane.

They hit the ground hard.

They rolled across the dirt.

None of them stood back up.

"He took out fifty elites in one move,"

An Amazon whispered from the back.

She dropped her sword.

"His power makes absolutely no sense,"

Another cried in despair.

"Is he a hidden Level 6?"

"Levels are just numbers,"

Elias told them calmly.

"You rely on your numbers too much. You forgot how to actually fight."

High up in the main tower, Ishtar watched the street from her large window.

Her hands shook uncontrollably.

"Who is that man?"

Ishtar demanded.

Her voice cracked.

Phryne looked out the window next to her.

Her ugly face twisted in pure, ugly anger.

"He is destroying our front line,"

Phryne croaked wetly.

"Kill him, Phryne!"

Ishtar ordered.

She grabbed Phryne's arm.

"Take the absolute strongest fighters and kill him right now! Break his bones!"

"With pleasure,"

Phryne smiled.

She grabbed her massive twin axes and left the room heavily.

Ishtar bit her fingernail until it bled.

"My beautiful Familia,"

Ishtar muttered to herself.

"He is ruining them."

Back down on the street, the Hestia Familia pushed forward quickly.

Elias completely cleared the path.

Welf and the others ran safely behind him.

They finally reached the center of the Night City.

The giant tower stood right in front of them.

The heavy front doors burst open.

Phryne walked out into the street.

She was incredibly huge.

A hundred more Amazons stood behind her.

These were Ishtar's elite guards.

Phryne pointed her large axe directly at Elias.

"You are a dead man,"

Phryne said loudly.

"I am going to crush your tiny head like a grape."

Elias looked up at her.

He didn't look impressed.

"You talk too much,"

Elias said.

Phryne roared like a wild beast.

She jumped high into the air.

She brought both of her heavy axes down toward Elias with all her might.

The ground cracked just from the pressure of her strong jump.

She was a Level 5 adventurer.

Her physical strength was terrifyingly real.

Elias didn't try to dodge.

He simply held his naginata up with one hand.

*Clang!*

The heavy iron axes hit the thin black pole.

Sparks flew everywhere.

Elias didn't move an inch.

His feet stayed firmly planted on the ground.

His arm didn't even bend.

Phryne's small eyes went wide.

"How?"

Phryne gasped in disbelief.

"I am Level 5! I am the strongest!"

"You are just slow,"

Elias said.

He pushed his weapon up.

Phryne lost her grip and stumbled backward awkwardly.

Elias stepped forward quickly.

He hit her stomach hard with the handle of his weapon.

Phryne coughed out spit.

She bent over in deep pain.

Elias casually kicked her directly in the face.

The giant toad woman flew completely across the wide street.

She crashed heavily into a thick stone pillar.

The stone pillar broke in half.

The elite Amazons stared in pure, silent shock.

Their strongest fighter was swatted away like an annoying bug.

"Who wants to go next?"

Dee asked nicely.

She leaned her chin on her large hammer.

No one moved a muscle.

"We surrender!"

An elite Amazon cried.

She dropped her sword to the floor.

"We cannot win against her,"

Another agreed sadly.

Weapons hit the stone floor one by one.

The clattering sound echoed in the quiet street.

The Ishtar Familia was completely broken.

Their will to fight was gone.

Elias looked up at the very top window of the tall tower.

He knew Ishtar was watching him.

"Your army is gone,"

Elias said loudly.

His clear voice carried all the way up to the window.

"Give the boy back."

Ishtar didn't answer.

The window remained silent.

"I guess we go up,"

Elias said.

He walked past the defeated Amazons.

They moved out of his way out of pure fear.

Welf, Hestia, and the others followed closely behind him.

The Ishtar Familia had taken heavy, unrecoverable damage.

And Elias barely broke a sweat.
