Donovan Lawrence was stunned.
He had already prepared to argue his case forcefully. He'd even considered throwing a tantrum or using violence to get the money. Three million wasn't easy to come by, but it wasn't impossible, either.
'Besides, so many of his uncle's closest relatives are here. If I grab any one of them and threaten their life, Uncle will have to pay up!'
He just never expected it to be this easy. His uncle had actually agreed to give him money. Even five million?
Donovan Lawrence was instantly overjoyed, but his smile didn't even last three seconds.
Because Vincent Lawrence, his smile unwavering, slowly added, "But, my dear nephew, can you produce any surveillance footage? Do you have a liability report from the traffic police? Or perhaps, any eyewitnesses from the scene?"
"You can't?"
Vincent Lawrence spread his hands. His tone was gentle, but every word was a dagger to the heart:
"In that case, what you're doing is called extortion."
