As if he had heard his father's words, Caelis slowly opened his eyes. His golden irises blazed like molten gold as he looked upward before rising to his feet. With a single powerful leap, he shot out of the lake and floated above its surface, standing before the silver dragon illusion.
Gradually, the two horns on his head shrank back, and the scales covering his body faded away. Although he wasn't in his beast form, everyone could still feel the overwhelming dragon aura radiating from him.
"Silver scales? I've never heard of an ice dragon with silver scales," Evelyne murmured.
Most ice dragons possessed bone-white scales with a faint blue sheen. Theron and Klaude both had scales like that, but Caelis's were different. His scales were silver, with shimmering blue highlights along their edges.
"Caelis has always been different since he was little. Perhaps..." Theron paused thoughtfully. "His scales turned silver because he absorbed the essence of the extreme cold from Lina."
