Chapter 1 - 1 London Orphans

"If you want to go to that Hogwarts school, then pay for it yourself! There's no way the orphanage can afford it!"

  "I understand miss Anna... "

  ...

Sheen watched Miss Anna as she walked out into the common room, gently closing the door behind her

If it's too loud that Miss Anna thinks you have a problem with her, dinner goes from cheap pork sausage to baked bean bread.

If you don't drink the tap water, that bread can choke you to death.

But the tap water is never clean, and he would get sick if he drank too much. Once he got sick, what was waiting for him in this poor orphanage in the southern suburbs was to be taken away by the god of death.

Why does Xi han know so clearly? For this is how the original sheen had died.

Disease, severe cold, and malnutrition all took his life, and "Sheen", who had entered this body, had always taken it as a warning.

He tried to drink those cheap black teas, and even the older kids' instant coffee. Where he would fight for a cup, even if it kept him awake for a day or two.

Over the past six months, he has figured out his situation

It is now the end of August 1991 and This is Croydon in the Harry Potter world

One of the most deprived, poverty ridden areas of London.

And the Holise Orphanage where he lived was the poorest orphanage.

  Why?

Because there is only one orphanage here, and it was opened for political achievements.

As was the case in the England he knew from his previous life. In late 1990, "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher stepped down.

Her Thatcherism brought about economic change and significantly exacerbated the gap between rich and poor.

The funds for the city suffered from deregulation, and the wealth of the masters surged; Traditional industrial areas and poor inner-city areas face unemployment and cuts in public services while those higher up enjoyed as "men of leisure".

This is particularly evident in Croydon

His Holise orphanage has not received any decent funding for five years, which has also led it to the state it is in today. Not only did children not have access to a sufficiently safe water source, but they also only have a thin blanket to spend their winter in.

Under such circumstances, if he could not get into Hogwarts, his chances of surviving to adulthood were slim at best. After all, his health had always been poor.

The slightest cold and fever could kill him, not because London's medical care is backward, but due to the mean-spirited carers who don't necessarily catch sick children "in time".

"Hogwarts is free tuition, but for all the supplies and transportation...Thank fully Ms Mcgonnagal gave me some money...another thing I have to pay back"

Sheen pulled out a bag from the deepest part of the iron bed, which contained one hundred and forty-three gold galeons, a magic wand, some robes, and other items.

He got everything strictly according to the minimum standards of the admission list, and even then he spent a full 157 gold galeons, leaving him with less than half of all his savings for the academic year

And tomorrow is the start of school at Hogwarts.

"I have to be faster. If I don't perform well enough to apply for the scholarship, I'm doomed... This alone will definitely not be enough..."

During the last time he received his admission letter and purchase, Professor McGonagall intentionally mentioned it to him, but it was for the outstanding young wizard.

  Will Sheen excel?

There was little hope, but he had to practice the floating spell five hundred times before he even learned it.

  Good, he's hanging.

  [Name: Sheen Green ]

  [Identity: Wizard]

  [Title: None ]

  [Proficiency]

  [Floating Curse: Apprentice Level (1/300)]

  [Fluorescent Spell: Apprentice Level (1/300)]

  [Cleansing Curse: Unlocked (27/30)]

[Three apprentice-level spells, which can unlock apprentice-level titles in the spell field]

[Advanced: Three entry-level spells, which can unlock entry-level titles in the spell field]

  ...

Yes, Sheen has a system panel, but it was practical. As long as he practices it correctly, he will be rewarded with a number of items. The apprentice-level spell only requires 30 correct practices. Three apprentice-level spells can also unlock an apprentice-level title

  It doesn't seem too difficult.

But it was such a simple thing, and Sheen took two months to complete it, practicing it correctly three times a day on average. It can be said that he has a terrible magical talent, and he doesn't know if it is because of world travel.

He suspected that this magical world he had never been meant to be in was targeting him.

Although the wizarding world probably didn't have time for him.

"Today, title unlocking must be completed! "

Sheen confidently took out his wand, carefully stepped onto the raised floor, and leaned out of the drafty single-glazed window.

Victorian semi-detached houses nestled in impoverished southern suburbs have fallen silent.

"Very good, everyone asleep, just be careful and you won't be discovered. "

If the original owner left him anything useful, it was this independent, remote single dormitory.

Although he had received this because Anna was afraid of his disease spreading, it was undoubtedly a good thing for Sheen now

This means he has enough private space to practice magic.

  "Scourgify! "

Sheen pronounced the spell clearly on the dirty poster and waved his wand into an S shape

  Unfortunately,

There is no decrease in the amount of grime on the panel.

Sheen didn't care either, and once again read the spell and waved the wand.

It wasn't until he learned it himself that Sheen understood the obscurity of magic.

For example, this cleansing spell, where should its spell stress be? Did he Need multiple? What kind of S-shape does its spell gesture have to be drawn as, big or small? Where should it be faster and where should it be slower?

Sheen knew that Scourge means to cleanse, and ify means to make..., and together they are meant to cleanse something.

So his pause should be between Scour, g and ify, and as for that S-shaped gesture, it's just a matter of luck.

Fortunately, he can judge success or failure based on whether his proficiency has increased or not, and summarize his experience from previous correct exercises.

  "Scour—g—ify!"

Sheen recited the spell for the fifth time and waved the wand according to experience

"Start faster, then slower, and as for the final arc, make it bigger..."

Sheen muttered to himself as he waved his wand strictly according to his successful experiences.

At this moment, a small light suddenly lit up at the tip of the wand and the poster on the table was instantly cleansed of the stain!

[You practiced the cleansing spell once at the beginner's standard, proficiency +3]

  [Cleansing Curse Unlocked]

[New Spell Realm titles unlocked, please check]

[A wizard talent has been unlocked, please check]

  Success!

Sheen picked up the cleaned-up poster, took a closer look, and then he sighed, he had to lament the magic of magic.

As for the standard for getting started, just like there are different spellcasting effects, the standard for correct practice is also different, divided into apprenticeship and beginners.

Apprentices will increase your proficiency by 1 point, while beginners will increase it by 3 points. As for whether there are still standards after beginners, Sheen doesn't know. According to his magical talent, Merlin has blessed one beginner.

  "Check out the new titles."

Sheen couldn't wait to open the panel, which refreshed with three new lines:

  [Title: Spell Novice ]

[Small increase in spell perception, small increase in spell talent]

  Sheen then looked down,

[Wizard Sheen, Spell Talent: Green (Curse Novice title, original talent is White) Note: Ordinary Wizards are Green ]

  Sheen gasped,

  His talent was originally white?!

No wonder he couldn't learn a spell. He had to praise Sheen's body for even being able to learn magic this much.

Fortunately, he did, otherwise it would be hard to imagine how difficult his future academic journey would be.

After a brief inspection, Sheen's eyes became more determined. Narrowing in a subtle rage.

No talent? Fuck that! He would practice and repeat for as long as he could!!

"Come on panel! Let's break your limits"
