Zeke's breath hitched without him noticing it. He looked at Asher directly in the eye, seeing a pair of voids that seemed to hold no life in them. But a moment later, a trace of concern appeared in them.
"Zeke, are you alright?"
Asher worriedly asked, noticing Zeke's unnerved appearance.
Zeke snapped out of his daze, releasing a long breath. He raised his head and looked at Asher again. Asher gazed at him with concern, seemingly having no idea about what he had done.
'…'
Zeke lowered his head and took a deep breath. Of course, Asher didn't say that intentionally… what was he thinking? He mocked himself in his mind before answering Asher's question.
"I'm okay. Is this about your new story?"
"Hm? No, this is an old story." Asher shook his head. "A reader emailed me a while ago about their review. They said that it was illogical for the character to end up as a different person in the ending."
