Chapter 2 - Wanted

(The Valentino's)

 *Tech Globe*

"How do you mean it was a girl who deactivated our vault?"The Don's voice thundered through the tech globe.

"I don't care how long it takes you to find her, but I want her in this clan dead or alive. In fact, I want her alive. Useless bunch of rugged fools!"

Sinn could hear the Don shouting at the frightened workers in the tech globe as he strode in with his siblings, their heavy boots echoing against the floor and disturbing his already restless mind. Sinn entered first, followed closely by Sylvester and Stacy.

The workers all bowed immediately, their heads lowered in fear. They greeted the Valentino triplets "VT" especially Lucifer.

The Don nodded when he saw his children, then fixed his gaze on them as if urging them to speak on the situation.

Stacy moved closer, her fingers flying across the main computer. The system reacted instantly as though it recognized her presence, the codes responding under her command. She paused briefly, then looked up.

"We should access the system room," she said calmly. "The girl is skilled. She's not ordinary."

Sinn stood still, eyes locked on the main screen, already decoding patterns in his head.

Sylvester as his name implied was manipulative and disturbingly good with torture and pain. He could easily be described as a cartoon maniac, one who smiled while inflicting suffering. Sinn, on the other hand, was difficult to describe. Jack of all trades, excellent at absolutely everything except emotions. He hated weakness, especially when it came from women, except his sister Stacy. At times, it almost made sense that he was a demi Greek god.

 (Deadly Devils)

"Boss, you called?" Knox said aloud, bowing before the bulky man seated on a throne-like chair.

Dominic Mordecai the only rival of the Valentino family. A bulky and surprisingly young-looking man, though he was in his late sixties. Undeniably handsome, but as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. He wasn't the Valentinos' rival for no reason he was also a crime lord.

"I've made all the necessary preparations," Dominic said calmly. "I've added new recruits to gain field experience. I don't know if VT or Lucifer will be there, so make sure there are more experienced fighters than new ones. You can't afford to fail."

"Yes, boss," Knox replied with a bow.

"Bring me the girl who stole our jewels today," Dominic added, taking a slow puff from his tobacco pipe. "I want her alive and here at all costs."

He flicked his fingers dismissively the conversation was over. Knox bowed once more and exited the room.

 *IXORA*

"Asia, take care of yourself. I have to leave, and I don't know when I'll be back," Ixora said hurriedly.

"Xoxo, what does that even mean? Are you preparing to die now?" Asia asked, half-joking, half-worried.

Ixora was her one and only best friend.

"If anyone comes here to ask of me, tell them I already left a week ago," Ixora said as she packed a few essentials into her bag.

"What have you done this time?" Asia asked, her voice turning serious.

"Long story short," Ixora replied, guilt lacing her voice, "yesterday, while tracking my parents' killer, I hacked into the Valentino database and broke through their walls."

Asia froze. "How could you? I told you to forget about this revenge."

"Sia, it's not like that," Ixora said quickly. "I didn't plan it. I don't even know how I landed on their database. I had already stopped tracking my parents' killer until I got a lead yesterday."

Asia shook her head slowly. "See where this has gotten you."

A loud bang interrupted her sentence someone was pounding violently on the door. Without hesitation, Asia pulled Ixora toward the back door.

"Be safe, Sia," Ixora whispered before running off into the night.
