Chapter 3 - Prologue Begins

Zenon almost lost his ability to speak, but he finally found his voice after a grunting effort.

"An ember stone?"

An ember stone was a rare currency Galaxy Online uses. It is used to buy a content creating system so one can start a show on the site. Since it is rare, there are few content creators.

And here he was, having one in his system account.

Suddenly he remembered the Axiom. 'He placed something in my hand? Was it the ember stone? If so, why did he do that? At most, Axioms aren't even related to the streaming site.'

Zenon, unable to think clearly, dismissed the system. He would think about the content creation privilege next time. Now he had to survive the first appearance of the enslavers.

As if on cue, he felt a large shadow cover the sun.

A grim expression appeared on his face. He looked up and stared at the sky. There were large flying spaceships.

The spaceships were round and large like the moon, having two golden rings suspended and spiraling around them. They were in a shade of black, making them look like large orbs with golden wires falling from the sky.

Countless appeared, each the size of a building.

'Right! I know what happens next.'

He immediately ran away from the castle as fast as he could as a foreign voice echoed across Earth.

"Earthlings! We are Kyrlls! Here to bring humanity a bright future. We only request one thing." The voice paused.

"You have no choice on this matter. It is either you die early or you die later," the voice added in a cold, predatory tone.

'It is just like before. Now they will say'

"Prepare for cleansing." The voice read out Zenon's thoughts.

Immediately, reality shook more than before. Then, behind him, a sudden green blast shot from one of the spaceships and slammed into the castle.

The castle exploded into shards of stone behind him. He didn't even hear the dying voices of the people in it as it was swallowed by the one-time blast.

"Tch."

There was nothing he could do. In his past life, they had died the same way. He had only barely escaped after Xavier carried his unconscious body out of the ruins.

'Yes. Xavier survived. So there is a high chance he will survive again.'

He wasn't counting on him to survive, though. He had plans playing in his mind in case Xavier actually died.

His mother, father, and everyone had died again. And he couldn't do anything. No, he could have tried to save them, but they would call him mad and stupid as usual.

It was, in the end, a lost cause.

[Landing the streaming system to factors]

The voice thundered in the skies as a large blue interface displayed itself in the air.

Zenon had reached the village his family ruled. The spaceships, just like in his past life, were doing the same thing. They didn't attack small villages or normal civilians, instead aiming for the royals and those in power.

Zenon didn't know why and wasn't interested in knowing either.

The villagers stared at the spaceships and the interface with confused expressions, yelling and pointing.

Zenon paid no one any attention, as no one noticed him either. This was survival, for now. The humans that would remain after the cleansing totaled 1.6 billion out of an original number of four billion.

Zenon knew he couldn't save many for now, so there was no point in trying.

Every man for himself until the cleansing was over, then he would make the damn Axioms and Tac111 pay.

[Streaming system has landed]

At that moment, everyone aside from Zenon had glowing golden interfaces in front of them. Zenon didn't have one because he didn't and would not awaken.

"Huh? What is this?"

"What is going on?"

"Hey! Is this a joke or what? What is happening?!"

Zenon, meanwhile, ran through the village and its small bushes as if looking for something. Apparently, he was.

"Damn it! Where is the place?!"

Finally, he got to a large space where the villagers dumped their waste.

"Gosh! It still stinks."

In his past life, Xavier had brought him here as a safe place after having a bad feeling about what was happening. Zenon was still unconscious at that time. Only when he regained consciousness in the dump did a portal appear and monsters spill out of it.

He and Xavier had escaped before the monsters saw them, but now Zenon had a different plan than escaping.

He wanted a place where no one would obviously come during the chaos of portals and monsters.

He was going to kill the damn monsters!

Soon, reality tore apart above the pile of dirt and slowly enlarged, forming a black vortex.

Zenon clenched the hilt of the ceremonial sword and gritted his teeth. The time of being afraid was over. When one has experienced the consequences of one's actions, it takes no time to try and change their ways.

He stood feet away from the portal as a red, clawed hand gripped the side of the vortex before stepping out. The monster looked to be the height of a pole. It looked like a crossbreed between a fish and a human.

It had red scales and metallic needles protruding from the center line of its back. Its mouth was a large maw housing triangular black metallic teeth.

Countless monsters of different sizes but with similar features to the first one stepped out of the portal.

Labels of their ranks appeared above their heads, ranging from Rank 10 to Rank 8.

As soon as the monsters' gaze landed on him, they didn't spare a second and lunged at him.

"Curses."
