Danielle's POV
I woke up this morning swollen face and pouffy eyes, my eyes where red due to how much I cried last night I still can't believe my own dad would be willing to sell me out just so he's company can grow more so he's company can get more business deals not even caring how I feel about all this. I knew he never liked me from the beginning but this is the height of it all "how could he? How could he do such a thing to me?" I felt tears willing up and threatening to spell but I immediately wiped it out "they don't deserve your tears Danielle" I told myself then took deep breaths before going to take my bath then started heading down stairs to make breakfast as usual for everyone. After making breakfast and sitting the table they started descending the stairs, when they eyes landed on me "I see your already awake" my dad said then my step mom turned to him "baby I told you to leave it to me I'll handle everything" then she turned to me coming closer "honey dear have you thought about what I told you last night"
(flashback) *after everyone had gone to bed her step mom came to her room* "wake up you brat" I heard while I was asleep"who's there?" I asked confused until I saw her "Step mom-" "I didn't come here to exchange pleasantries with you " she cut me short" it's about what you're father told you last night-" I fired up immediately "I'm not marrying that man" "you think you have a choice?" Then she laughed that kind of laughter that gives you goosebumps immediately but not the good kind then she started smirking I don't think I'm escaping this one "you don't have a choice either you marry him or your grandma goes" "it doesn't matter I'll work hard and take care of her with whatever I have" I said really angry and annoyed she continued smirking but only this time it got bigger and more scearyer, I could feel chills running down my spin "it's like you don't understand what I meant by she goes" it was then I realized "ho-how could you?" I asked shocked and confused at the same time "she's your mother in law!!!" I shouted I could feel the tears running down my eyes because I couldn't handle it anymore "don't shout at me" then she took a deep breath calming herself down "it's left up to you either you marry Mr Moretti and she stays alife and contiunes receiving her treatment or you don't and she dies " she said it so causally as if it was nothing. (End of flashback) "So have you thought about it? Or you want to continue being stubborn?" "Honey I've told you let's just force her into it" my dad said then my step mother replied "no sweetheart let's leave her she'll come around" my step mom said while placing an arm on my dad's shoulder to calm him down "but we don't have much time left Mr Moretti is getting tired of waiting what if he says he doesn't want her anymore?" "No he won't say such a thing trust me" he then turned to me "better make up that mind of yours quickly because things are not gonna be funny when Mr Moretti decides that he doesn't want you or the deal anymore " .
I could feel my inner conscience shouting and screaming at me not to but I have no other choice "I've made my decision " I said breathing hard so as to calm myself down "I've decided I'll marry him " if that is what it takes for my grandma to be safe and continue receiving her treatment then so be it, I could even die for that woman she has done alot for me and was one of the people that loved me dearly apart from Mrs Florence but she fell really sick when I was five and till now she hasn't been okay again.
After I said that both my dad and step mom turned to look at me "see honey I told you she would come around and that she just needed some time " my step mom said while turning to give my dad a big hug then turned to me "no one will touch her she won't do a thing till the wedding" she said like she cared for me with smiles of both she and my dad, smiles of selling me out, smiles of ruining my life, smiles of using me to sell a deal I hate them I hate them from the freaking bottom of my heart.
"The weddings in two days so-" "why?!!" I asked both shocked and confused on the reason why the weeding is so early my dad wanted to lash out on me for shouting but my step mom as usual placed a hand on his chest then turned to me after rolling her eyes in annyounce "because we seal the deal as soon as possible, no delays and most especially we don't trust you, you might just decide to change your mind not that you actually have a choice but to be on the safe side" gosh do I hate her annoying fake sweet voice, it sounds soo fake but what can I do I have no other choice do I?.
Lorenzo's POV
It was another stressful day as usual but who cares I prefer it anyway, I was heading home when Robin came up to me "sir-" then my phone started ringing, I checked the caller ID for me to see it was Ace "oh finally he decides to call" I breathed out before answering him "what is it?" "That's no way to talk to your right hand man is it?" "Move straight to the point" "come on Lorenzo you didn't even miss me? Your heartless you" "when are you coming back?" "Come on can't a man enjoy his week off again " " just answer the damn question ace when are you coming back?" '' next week, I'll be there maybe before or after your wedding '' damn it this idiot just had to remind me that I'm changing brides '' at least I won't be the only one handling you anymore '' he laughed ''this sounds funny to you?" ''oh come on it is funny af'' he was still laughing when I hanged up the call ''stupid assh***" I said throwing my phone into the car.
I was about heading home when Robin came up again ''sir-" "what " I asked with a calm face '' I-I wanted to remind you, you have a dinner meeting with the old grampa Moretti " '' is that all?" I asked he then nodded ''then get out your stoping my window from closing " after that I speeded off into the night.
When I got there as I was heading into the house after coming out of the car, the maids were greeting me when "Lorenzo!!" She gasped "grandma" I said with she giving me a huge hug , she normally likes this I don't really enjoy it but she insists on it so what can I do? . Nothing right so here comes my mom "Lorenzo my baby" "mama-" she didn't even let me finish she joined in the hugging festival.
Gosh women and hugs I don't know what's so special about it to the reason why they love it soo much "my baby how are you? Hope you've been eating well?" "Sto bene, mama e nonna . Ho mangiato bene e non sto morendo di fame né lavorando troppo, promesso"(I'm fine mama and grandma I've been eating well and not starving or overworking promise) I said in our native Italian "sei sicuro? Sembri come se non dor messi da giorni-"(Are you sure? You look like you haven't slept in days) "that's enough" I saw my grandfather descending the stairs gosh that man is soo f**king annoying "Buona sera nonno"(good evening grandpa) I greeted but he didn't even respond to me I hate it whenever he treats me like this it's annoying and frustrating.
After all pleasantries exchanged from both my grandma and my mama gosh both of the separate are works on their own but when they come together I don't even want to start about that now. I headed up stairs to my room so I can change and take a shower and once I was done I came back down stairs for dinner. We were all eating when my grandfather started "have you finally come to a decision?" I breathed in and out not right now why is it this man doesn't want to see me have peace of mind for once. I got annoyed and irritated immediately then dropped the utensils I was using to eat.
Trying really hard to control my voice and angar "first of all most I don't even know this girl if the Gorge family has a second daughter I don't know and don't care to know either in conclusion I'm not marrying her" " you don't have a choice in this" he said "it's my life isn't it?" I said replying "watch your tone boy Io sono tuo nonno. Possiedo tutto quello che hai; nemmeno un centesimo è a tuo nome, quindi stai attento a come mi parli (I am your grandfather, I own you have nothing not even a penny in your name so better watch how you talk to me)" "Non puoi farlo! "Non puoi farlo!!! (you can't do that)" "Watch your tone boy " he said in a calm voice "so what are you saying are you agreeing or not?" I just left the dining heading outside, I could hear both my grandma and mom calling out to me for me to stop but I didn't listen I wasn't in the mood to listen right now so I just ignored them and drove off to a place that I know can always calm me down.
When I got there I got out of the ear nothing's changed even if it's a little bit everything's still the same how it was back then and now (flashback) mama, look what I found" "Lorenzo how many times have I told you to stop wondering off hmmmm?" "I'm sorry mama, promesso che non lo farò mai più (i promise to never do it again)" "is that so " "papa!!!!! I thought you wouldn't come?" "But how could I miss such a precious moment huh " (author's POV: he said lefting the child (end of flashback) "I miss you mom and dad I really do " now I was feeling confused, I don't know exactly where to start from or what to do even do or where to start from. All these where running through my mind and I didn't even know when I fell asleep.
The next morning I woke up and decided to start heading back my grandparents place well mostly because my mom and grandma having been calling my phone non stop, I know I made them about me but what can I do? As soon as I got home both my mom and grandma rushed me "Lorenzo what came over you last night? huh? " "Don't ever scare us like that ever again do you know how worried we were? Huh? " " Grandma mama I promise I won't ever do it again" "now can I please go take a shower and start heading to work" they laughed "oh sorry, you may go"
After getting ready for work I headed down stairs and was about heading out when I remembered I have an unfinished business with my grandfather so I went up to his room to talk to him. When I got there I knocked "come in" I opened the door and went in, when I went in saw him with his back facing me and him facing the window "what do you want?" "I've decided to marry the second daughter of the Gorge family " "wait " I said stopping him "hold up, why the hell is it so soon" he didn't even spare me a glance "the wedding's in two days so be ready ". After that he just left without even saying another thing or even looking at me or sparing me a glance I can't believe I'm doing this.
