Chapter 40 - CHAPTER FORTY ONE

Ellen couldn't explain what she was feeling as she saw Henry coming back with Steph looking brighter than a while ago, when she rushed out. "Looks like Henry worked his magic again." Kelly as usual, had something to say. Ellen ignored her comment and focused on the food she was playing with. "Hi ladies, sorry I ran out like that. I had some issues to deal with." Steph apologized and they smiled, Ellen not bothering to look up. "Excuse me please." Henry said to Kelly, signaling her to sit somewhere else, as she was the one sitting next to Ellen. Kelly got up, understanding he wanted to sit with Ellen, and sat by Abby. Ellen shifted subconsciously when Henry sat, and he turned to her. "Why are you playing with your food?" Henry asked with a serious expression. "Oh, you guys know each other?" Steph inquired. "Yes, we went to the same school. He is the guy I won the contest I told you about, with." Ellen replied, but that response did not sit well with Henry. He didn't say anything though. "Henry's the guy we were teasing Elle about." Kelly whispered into Stephanie's ears. "Oh, my God!" Steph exclaimed with wide eyes in shock. She finally understood the change in Ellen's mood, and why Henry didn't want their kiss coming out. "Um, Kobby and I are childhood friends. Believe me, there's nothing between us nor will there ever be." Steph felt she had to clarify things, after the initial shock, and Henry smiled inwardly, finally getting the whole situation. Ellen just gave a weak smile, and turned back to her food. "Why will you all just order for yourselves? I'm starving." Henry exclaimed, taking Ellen's spoon from her. "Hey, Henry that's mine. Order food if you are hungry." Ellen retorted. "I want yours. Come on, we'll eat together." He said adamantly. The rest of the people started smiling and Ellen turned red. "Henry stop it please. Give me back my spoon." Ellen pleaded. "Will you feed me then?" He asked. "Just feed the poor guy Ellen, he's starving. You know, he's a picky eater, so he will only eat from your plate." Steph came to his rescue. "Yeah Elle, don't be stingy with your food." Abby backed, realizing Henry was trying to cheer her friend up by worrying her. "Fine, have your spoon. I'll go get mine. Naa, you want something?" Henry finally relented playfully. "No please, I'll share with you, if she doesn't want to. Are you going to give him, so I share with James, or we should eat together? Won't be the first time though." Steph replied, intentionally making her jealous. Henry wanted to hug the girl when Ellen said she would share with him. He winked at her, and she smiled. Letting go, and forgiving was really great when you try it.

"So, what's your deal with Ellen?" Steph asked Henry when they left for the cinema hall. He was going to buy the tickets, and she followed. "She and I are just friends." He replied. "Right, because she bounced you huh? Never thought someone could resist your charm, but then again, it looks like she is into you, but denying it. Now I get why I have to keep it a secret." Steph commented with a chuckle. "Haha, that's because she's different from other girls. She's not desperate, and does not want to look like she is. She told me she doesn't want to date me, not that she bounced me. I've never proposed to her, yet." Henry explained with a smirk. "Are you serious about her, or you just need to prove something? Like you said, she's pretty special, and my brother seems to like her. If you're playing with her, please don't." Steph added with concern. "I'm not playing with her okay. I actually like her, plus I gave my word to Clara that I won't play her. I haven't liked a girl this way since I broke up with you." Henry defended, his expression serious. "And how does Chris know her?" He asked after processing that part of her sentence. It was already weird Ellen knew Stephanie when they both live in different worlds. Now he's hearing Chris is his competition. Steph was about to answer when James came to ask if they are not being sold the tickets. They left to meet the others after buying snacks and entered the theater. Henry was really confused about what was going on. He and Ellen had been speaking on phone, but she never told him anything about knowing the Clarkes. Come to think of it, how was she able to gain weight and wear such clothes, considering her background? Henry kept stealing glances at Ellen, trying to figure out what was going on with her when a phone rang by her, something he had failed to realize the whole day. Ellen brought out the phone to answer the call, and Henry's eyes almost fell out of their sockets. How is Ellen using the same type of phone he is using? That is the latest version of iPhone, and the price was very dear. His grandma gave it to him after completing high school and winning the contest. Henry followed Ellen who had gone out to answer the call. "Jesus!" Ellen exclaimed, startled. "What have you been up to Eleanora? Expensive clothes, an expensive phone. Did you get yourself involved with a wealthy person?" Henry asked in an upset tone. "Watch it Henry, don't you dare insult me." Ellen shot back, upset as well. "Insult you? Just last term you were seriously ill because you weren't eating well. Now you have gained weight and own expensive things. Tell me something, is there something going on between you and Christian Clarke? What can he give you that I can't, Eleanora?" An enraged Henry asked. Today, their friends came out in time to see Henry receive a slap for the second time. *slap* "Respect! That's what he can give, and you can't." Ellen said and stormed off. "What just happened?" Steph asked while Abby and Kelly followed Ellen.
