Chapter 5 - Death Wish

"That should be impossible."

Andrew shook his head, immediately dismissing the thought.

Something as absurd as dissociative identity disorder only appears in novels; this isn't a novel, so how could it exist?

Since Scarlett said she wasn't angry, Andrew felt a bit relieved.

No matter what, Scarlett was a professor; she wouldn't go back on her word.

"I should take a shower first, and calm down. I've received too much information today."

More than ten minutes later, Andrew changed his clothes and emerged from the bathroom.

As soon as he pulled open the glass sliding door, he saw Scarlett standing at the entrance, which startled him, making him lean back slightly.

Scarlett watched Andrew's reaction, already getting used to it.

Although she still didn't understand why Andrew was so afraid of her, since he didn't say anything, she wouldn't ask.

Moreover, his fear of her had a benefit: Andrew would listen to her more, making it easier for her to complete the task Alexa had given her to supervise Andrew.

"Are you done? I need to go in and wash my face, then I'll take you to school."

"Y-yes... I'm done, but I can take a taxi myself, Teacher Scarlett, you don't need to drive me."

Andrew didn't dare let Scarlett drive him.

"I'm going to the school cafeteria for dinner anyway. You can wait for me at the door; I'll be quick."

Scarlett finished speaking and entered the bathroom, leaving the door open. She grabbed a towel to wash her face and prepared to tidy her hair.

Andrew didn't dare to disobey again, so he went to the main entrance to wait for Scarlett.

"How does she walk without making any sound? She always appears mysteriously behind or in front of me."

Andrew hadn't heard any movement when he was changing in the bathroom. He was a bit curious how Scarlett managed it.

Soon, Andrew found the reason.

Scarlett wasn't wearing slippers inside the house; she was walking barefoot, which was why there was no sound at all.

Standing at the door, he could clearly see Scarlett at the bathroom sink.

She was wearing a white dress, the mesh skirt covering her thighs, revealing her slender, long calves.

A pair of jade-white feet, completely uncovered, stepped on the floor tiles. Her delicate, snow-white feet were faintly tinged with a tender pink, like a work of art.

When Scarlett, standing at the sink, looked up, she happened to see Andrew, staring blankly from the doorway, reflected in the mirror.

"What is he looking at? So engrossed? Is there something interesting on my back?"

Scarlett was a little curious. She deduced from the mirror's reflection that Andrew might be looking at her feet.

To confirm, Scarlett shifted her feet.

Andrew's gaze indeed moved.

"Heh, this Little Fellow is really interesting."

Scarlett's lips curved into a smile as she thought to herself, 'He's clearly afraid of me, yet he still peeks.'

'Hmph, he's also a Little Pervert.'

Scarlett didn't make a sound, pretending not to know anything. She tied her beautiful black long hair into a ponytail and walked out.

Andrew, standing at the door, saw Scarlett come out of the bathroom and quickly averted his gaze, moving to the side.

Scarlett came to the door, placed the sneakers she wore during the day aside, and took out a pair of low-heeled white crystal shoes from the cabinet.

Her pink toes were exposed, and with the sparkling crystal decorations on the shoes, they looked even more beautiful.

On the way to school, the two remained silent, without a word.

It wasn't until Scarlett parked the car by the central aisle of the school that she finally asked, "Which cafeteria do you want to eat dinner at?"

"Um, Teacher Scarlett, you decide. I'm not very familiar with the school."

This was different from his fear at noon. Now, Andrew genuinely couldn't make up his mind. Blackthorn University alone had six cafeterias, and he didn't know the differences between them.

Seeing the choice returned to her, Scarlett no longer demurred; she wasn't a coy person.

"Then let's go to Cafeteria Three; there are fewer people there."

"Okay."

On the way to the cafeteria, Andrew received a message from Ethan, asking him to eat at Cafeteria One with his roommates.

Andrew wanted to go; after all, eating with acquaintances meant he could chat and boast.

But now he could only refuse. Whether he was afraid of Scarlett or not, he had already agreed to eat with her, so how could he change his mind at the last minute?

"You guys go, I'm eating with my roommate."

"Holy crap! You dog, your roommate isn't a beauty, is she? Otherwise, why would you abandon your brothers?"

"Idiot, I'm already eating, get lost."

Andrew didn't know if Ethan could tell the future or what, but how could he guess so accurately?

Unfortunately, his beautiful roommate was not only pretty but also a bit scary.

"Don't look at your phone while walking."

Scarlett suddenly reminded him.

Andrew quickly put away his phone after hearing her, "Ok!"

Andrew's obedience surprised Scarlett, 'My tone just now should have been quite calm, right? I didn't scold or reprimand him, did I?'

After walking for a while, the two entered Cafeteria Three.

As soon as he walked in, Andrew knew this was the luxurious cafeteria from the school's promotional video.

Both the decor and the variety of food were comparable to a five-star hotel, but there weren't many people, mostly freshmen like Andrew.

When Andrew saw the prices, he understood why no one came to Cafeteria Three.

A plate of steak and fries cost about two dollars. Aside from the wealthy, Andrew couldn't imagine who would eat here regularly.

Fortunately, he had a monthly allowance of a little over four hundred dollars, and since he didn't have to pay rent, treating himself to a meal like this once in a while was still manageable.

Andrew ordered a plate of pasta, while Scarlett chose a light salad. They found an empty table near the corner and sat down, eating quietly without much conversation.

Despite this, many gazes still turned their way.

Girls in groups of two or three would linger their gaze on Andrew.

After all, Andrew had fair skin, a defined face, and a somewhat lean physique, which indeed matched the aesthetic preferences of most girls.

But upon seeing Scarlett next to Andrew, they felt their own looks were insignificant, and the thought of asking for his contact information was abandoned.

Similarly, many boys looked at Scarlett, but they only looked and didn't dare to approach her.

Andrew hadn't paid much attention to the surrounding gazes until a boy suddenly walked up to his opposite side, seemingly intending to sit next to Scarlett and strike up a conversation.

The next moment, Scarlett merely gave the boy a cold glance, which immediately made him change his mind and flee as if escaping.

Andrew watched this scene and couldn't help but sigh, 'He really has a death wish, still thinking of hitting on Scarlett.'
