"So, Genji-san really was the one to win in the end."
Tsukumo Yuki sighed as she watched the screen, which had finally flickered back to life.
Thanks to Mei Mei's crows, everyone in the referee room could finally see the match site again. But by the time the surveillance footage was restored, Genji had already finished the fight, and the screen showed only his lone figure.
"Alright, since it's over, let's go announce the results. We still need to give a speech to the students afterward."
With that, Tsukumo Yuki stretched and walked over to the broadcast microphone.
But just then, one of the two remaining Kyoto Jujutsu High teachers in the referee room suddenly spoke up to stop her.
"Wait a moment, Special Grade Tsukumo. After all, we didn't see the process, so we can't be sure if Student Genji committed any fouls during the match..."
Before the teacher could finish his sentence, he suddenly felt as if he were being stared at by some wild beast, and his entire body couldn't help but tremble.
"Say that again!"
Tsukumo Yuki's voice rang out. Unlike before, when she would at least have a smile on her face even while mocking others, she now had no expression at all, and her voice was devoid of any warmth.
"I said, repeat what you just said."
Facing a clearly furious Tsukumo Yuki, the teacher felt as if his body was no longer under his control. Unable to utter a single word, he had no choice but to cast a pleading look toward Gakuganji.
"Old Man Gakuganji, do you think so too?"
Tsukumo Yuki looked at Gakuganji again. She was well aware of whose instructions were behind these teachers' words.
"Everyone knows exactly which side the rules of this match were designed to favor. Now that you've lost, you've lost. Are you really going to play the'sore loser' card?!"
Seeing that Tsukumo Yuki seemed genuinely angry, Gakuganji was silent for a moment. He opened his eyes, which had previously been hidden in the shadows, and said to Tsukumo Yuki, "Of course, a loss is a loss; we naturally accept the defeat. But your reaction is a bit excessive!"
For a moment, the atmosphere in the referee room became tense.
"Alright, Special Grade Tsukumo, it is time for you to announce the outcome of this match."
After a few seconds of deadlock, Gakuganji spoke up.
"Hmph, sore losers."
Tsukumo Yuki scoffed with disdain before walking over to the broadcast microphone to announce the winner.
"Strange, why haven't they announced the winner yet?"
Genji sat boredly on a fallen tree trunk, which was the only one in the vicinity that was still intact enough to sit on after his attacks.
At Genji's feet, Kamo Mine and Maekage Ken were laid out neatly, lying peacefully on the ground.
"Maybe I should take these two to get treated first."
Having waited a long time for the broadcast without success, Genji muttered to himself, already considering whether to take the two people at his feet for treatment first.
"Wait!"
Genji suddenly thought of a possibility. He looked around. There was basically nothing left that could be called intact.
"Don't tell me I destroyed all the surveillance cameras," Genji muttered to himself, feeling a bit guilty.
Just then, a crow landed in front of Genji.
"Eh? A crow. Could it be Mei Mei's shikigami?" Genji wondered.
Seeing the crow, Genji quickly guessed that it was a shikigami controlled by Mei Mei. After all, his moves just now had been quite loud, and any ordinary bird would have long since fled.
"What's this?"
While Genji's mind was racing, the corner of his eye caught something tied to the crow.
"Is that a camera?"
Seeing the camera on the crow, Genji knew that his guess was likely correct; they were probably using Mei Mei's crow to replace the broken surveillance cameras.
"In this match, Genji from Tokyo School is the winner. Tokyo School has secured three victories first, winning the individual competition of this Exchange Event. Students within the competition grounds, please leave as soon as possible."
After Genji had roughly figured out what was going on, the broadcast finally rang out.
After seeing the Jujutsu High staff take the two people on the ground for treatment, Genji stood up and returned to the starting point.
"Yo, the commotion someone caused wasn't much smaller than mine," Satoru Gojo said with a cheeky grin as he draped his arm over Genji's shoulder.
After Genji returned, Satoru Gojo grinned cheekily and draped his arm over Genji's shoulder.
"Yeah, the only difference is that I won, while someone else was itchy-handed and ended up receiving a punishment he could have avoided."
Seeing Genji exposing his shortcomings again, Satoru Gojo could only smile awkwardly, fearing that someone would start settling scores again.
"Exactly. Gojo, you'd better use your brain before you act in the future," Shoko added, following Genji's lead and lecturing Satoru Gojo.
Shoko also chimed in, following Genji's line of conversation to lecture Satoru Gojo.
"Hai, hai, I know, I know," Satoru Gojo said, covering his ears and dodging to the side.
Satoru Gojo covered his ears and ducked to the side.
"Geez, you two are acting like a married couple now."
"What did you say?"
Satoru Gojo's whispered complaint didn't escape Shoko's ears.
"Nothing! I said you're right, and I will definitely execute your opinions from now on."
Satoru Gojo said to Shoko with a firm and sincere attitude.
"Gojo said that you and Genji were acting like a married couple just now," Suguru Geto said suddenly.
At this moment, Suguru Geto suddenly spoke up.
"Gojo! You jerk!"
"Geto! You... wait, Shoko, I didn't... I'm sorry!"
Satoru Gojo's eyes widened at first, unable to believe the betrayal from his best friend. Just as he was about to teach Suguru Geto a lesson, the sanctions from the shy Shoko had already arrived.
"Sorry, Gojo, but you have to be punished if you do something wrong."
Ignoring Gojo's look of mixed pleas, disbelief, and heartbroken betrayal, Mr. Geto adopted a business-like, merciful tone to nail the final coffin lid shut on Mr. Gojo.
"Geto!!!"
...
At the gate of Kyoto Jujutsu High.
Yaga Masamichi, Yoshinobu Gakuganji, Tsukumo Yuki, and a few remaining staff members from Kyoto Jujutsu High stood in front of the gate, looking at the students before them.
"Ahem. This Exchange Event has now come to an end. In view of Tokyo School's outstanding performance in both the team and individual competitions, the winner of this Exchange Event is Tokyo School."
Tapping his cane, Gakuganji announced.
However, few of the students in front of him cared.
On the Tokyo School side, Genji and Shoko were discussing what to eat for dinner, while Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were arguing in low voices about Suguru Geto's backstabbing earlier. Only Utahime, after looking at the people around her, chose to applaud symbolically along with Mei Mei.
"Ahem!!"
As Yaga Masamichi's warning cough rang out, the four of them—Genji and his group—instantly became well-behaved, stopped whispering, and stood straight, just like elementary school students at morning assembly.
As for the students from Kyoto Jujutsu High, Maekage Ken and Kamo Mine were respectful enough to stand properly without doing anything extra, though they didn't react to Gakuganji's words either.
As for Zenin Shi, he seemed to be still immersed in the blow that this Exchange Event had dealt him, so he surprisingly didn't do anything out of line. The other Kyoto Jujutsu High students were obediently clapping.
Next, after Gakuganji's sleep-inducing speech, this Exchange Event finally came to an end.
"Hey, Gojo, wake up. Principal Gakuganji is finished."
Genji shook the sleeping Satoru Gojo standing beside him, feeling utterly speechless.
"Yo, Genji-san, was the Exchange Event I designed fun?"
Not far behind, Tsukumo Yuki walked up and asked Genji in a loud voice.
"Heh, it was so much fun, so fun that I can't wait to beat up the guy who came up with these bizarre rules," Genji said with dead fish eyes, looking at the culprit before him.
"Ma, ma, that's what makes it fun. It's challenging, isn't it? You wouldn't like a match where you could win easily, would you? This time, I specifically took on several missions from The Higher-Ups just to earn the right to be a judge for the Exchange Event and modify the rules."
"Heh, I didn't find it interesting at all, just a headache. Next time, please just honestly use your merits to exchange for something else, and don't pick on us to mess with."
However, Tsukumo Yuki didn't care about what Genji said at all and continued talking to herself.
"As expected, your performance in the end was quite good. You really are worthy of being the juniors I have high hopes for. Alright, I should go now. I look forward to your future performances."
With that, Tsukumo Yuki blew a kiss and rode off on her motorcycle.
"What a troublesome person," Genji muttered, watching her retreating figure.
"Um, Student Genji?"
Genji turned around to see several Kyoto Jujutsu High students led by Aoki Chiyo, though Kamo Mine and Zenin Shi were not among them.
"We're going to have a celebration party. Do you want to come?"
Upon hearing this, Genji was just about to refuse, but Satoru Gojo suddenly appeared behind him.
"Of course! The more the merrier."
"Hey, what are you up to again?" Genji asked Satoru Gojo in a low voice.
"Nothing. We aren't leaving until tomorrow anyway, so let's have some fun tonight."
"That sounds good, doesn't it?" Just as Genji was about to say something, Shoko also came over to persuade him.
"Fine, I got it."
And so, the students from both schools held a hot pot party that night.
To Genji's surprise, Maekage Ken, that seemingly serious guy, ended up hanging out with that guy Satoru Gojo after accidentally drinking a can of Shoko's beer. Together with Suguru Geto, the three of them got drunk and started singing, though their pitch could only be described as being completely off the charts.
Thus, everyone spent a pleasant evening, though Genji could occasionally hear a wild sound of a guitar coming from somewhere in the school, as if someone was venting something.
The next day.
"See you next time."
Genji waved goodbye to Aoki Chiyo and the others.
And so, after the chaotic Exchange Event, Genji and his group finally returned to Tokyo, and the summer vacation arrived quietly.
