Yuki High School. Class 1-B.
A Sunday morning so still you could hear your own heartbeat.
The building was empty—except for us.
Our teacher was late. Again.
I sat by the window, staring at the empty desks, wondering why I even came.
Then the floor shivered.
At first I thought it was a truck outside.
But the tremor kept growing. Windows rattled. Chalk dust rained from the ceiling.
Cracks spidered up the walls like veins.
The whole room groaned—like it was alive and dying.
Someone screamed.
Then everyone did.
I stayed seated.
Not because I was brave.
Just… frozen.
And then—light.
A perfect circle burned under our feet. Blue-white, too bright to look at.
The air smelled like ozone and something metallic.
"What is this?!"
"Hey—what's happening?!"
Before I could blink, the glow swallowed everything.
When I opened my eyes, the sky was wrong.
Endless, swirling clouds. No ground.
We were floating.
"Where… are we?" Mitsuki's voice trembled beside me.
She was the only one who'd ever said hi to me.
The only one who didn't laugh when Tonaka called me "ghost boy."
A voice rolled through the air—like thunder wrapped in silk.
"You all… have been summoned.
To a world of magic and swords."
Kamisato snorted. "And if we refuse?"
The voice didn't hesitate.
"Then I shall return you…
to your collapsing school building.
Where you will die."
Silence.
Real silence. The kind that presses on your chest.
Tonaka muttered, "So… we don't really have a choice."
Mitsuki's hands clenched. "But we're just normal students…
How are we supposed to defeat a Demon Lord?"
"Say the words," the voice said.
"'Status Open.'"
Mitsuki swallowed.
"…Status Open."
A translucent panel flickered in front of her.
Name: Mitsuki
Level: 1
HP: 1000
MP: 1000
Class: None
Magic: None
She stared. "What… is this?"
"Your stats," the voice answered.
"Grow stronger.
Level up.
And defeat the Demon Lord."
Everyone started shouting it—
"Status Open!"
"Status Open!"
Kamisato frowned. "Why are we all classless?"
"Once you enter that world…
your actions will determine your class.
Once chosen…
it cannot be changed."
I raised my hand. Quiet.
"Excuse me…
I… can't see my status."
Tonaka laughed. "As expected from you.
Your stats probably aren't even high enough to appear."
The others joined in.
Laughter like knives.
Mitsuki turned. "Tonaka. Stop bullying him."
"Whatever," he said. "Truth is truth."
The voice cut through.
"Now…
Prepare for transportation."
Light bloomed around them—
one by one they vanished.
Like candles snuffed out.
But I didn't.
Mitsuki didn't.
The clouds parted.
Something descended.
A woman—no, not a woman.
Hair like moonlight. Eyes like endless night.
Wings of pure silver.
She smiled.
Soft.
Dangerous.
"I am the Goddess.
And I have something…
important to tell you."
