The young man didn't give his companion a chance to respond. He kept talking, his words spilling out without pause:
"What a disappointment! He didn't understand me at all. He just kept staring at me as if I were the one at fault. So I asked him innocently, 'Isn't hunting fun?' But he refused to answer…"
He tilted his head slightly, then added with a grin,
"You don't find hunting enjoyable either, do you, old man?"
---
Curious, he turned toward the old teacher.
The old man shot him a furious glare—like an enraged bull on the verge of charging. Then he barked sharply:
"Will you be quiet, you fool?! I am trying to think here!"
---
The young man immediately raised his hands in apology.
"Oh! My sincerest apologies, grandfather!"
---
But within mere seconds, his mouth opened again—speaking of things that had never even happened in his life.
---
When dinner was finally ready, the young man served the food to the teacher. It was the first gesture the old man had accepted from him. From that moment on, their conversation continued, and little by little, they managed to build a bond. Before long, the young man became his disciple almost naturally.
---
The teacher was deeply introverted—excessively so. In the absence of chatter, he would sink into profound contemplation, analyzing people and uncovering their flaws with unsettling clarity.
But this young man… gave him no such opportunity.
The moment the teacher found even a single minute of quiet to relax, the young man would resume his endless chatter. At times, it infuriated the old man, who would snap upright just to correct the boy's careless mistakes.
---
And yet, despite their opposing natures and clashing rhythms, the two men managed to find a point of harmony—something humanity itself had long sought but rarely attained.
A bond of genuine affection formed between them, weaving their differences into strength.
And so, they became—against all odds—the most perfectly matched pair in this world.
