Yoru held Kushina with a gentle smile.
The usually lively and fiery girl was now like a lazy little cat, her cheeks flushed as she nestled quietly in his arms.
After a moment of warmth, Yoru released her and said with a grin, "Kushina, let me introduce you to a friend."
Please don't bite me… he prayed silently.
Kushina turned her head—and saw a delicate girl with light bluish-purple hair standing there. Her fingers fidgeted nervously, betraying her unease.
But what drew Kushina in the most… were those eyes.
Pure. Clear. And filled with the same confusion and loneliness she once had when she first arrived in Konoha.
That timid, uneasy expression… it was like looking at her past self.
Back then, before she met Yoru, she had been suffocated by loneliness and fear—especially after learning what she was destined to become. It was only after meeting Yoru and Mikoto that she finally found a place she could call home.

After a while, Kushina grabbed Konan's hand and pulled her over.
"Hmph! Lucky you, idiot Yoru!" she snorted. "Konan is such a pitiful girl. To make sure you don't bully her, she'll be staying with me from now on!"
Yoru gave Konan a helpless look, silently asking for help.
Konan's face flushed red… and she pretended not to notice.
What, you want me to say I'll live with you instead? Dream on… she thought shyly.
"Hmph! You may have passed my test," Kushina continued, wrinkling her nose, "but what about Mikoto? Have you figured out how to explain this to her?"
Yoru scratched his head again. "Well… it's a bit hard for me to go see her directly, so I asked the Hokage to—"
Bang!
Before he could finish, the door burst open.
A familiar figure rushed in.
Her eyes were slightly red, filled with deep longing, as she threw herself straight into Yoru's arms. The force of the impact even made him stumble back slightly.

Yoru gently stroked her black hair, his voice soft.
"Mikoto… I'm back."
Mikoto Uchiha looked up at him, tears still clinging to her beautiful face—yet she smiled sweetly.
"Welcome back."
Inside Kushina's room, Kushina energetically listed Yoru's "crimes," emphasizing how pitiful Konan was, all while sneakily observing Mikoto's reaction.
Mikoto, however, simply looked at Yoru—who now resembled a child caught doing something wrong—with amused eyes.
This guy really knows how to act, she thought, silently clicking her tongue. As if I'd ever truly be angry at him.
"Alright, Kushina," Mikoto said with a soft laugh. "I never said I disagreed. Konan can stay with you."
Her gaze swept lightly over Yoru.
He could only respond with an awkward smile.
No matter how gentle and understanding Mikoto was, there was no way she'd tolerate the man she loved living with another girl first.
Unless…
Her cheeks flushed faintly.
Konan's pure eyes lit up with joy as she looked at Yoru. To her, he was everything now.
Yoru returned a reassuring smile, as if to say: See? I told you they'd accept you.
Soon after, Kushina tactfully pulled Konan out of the room, leaving Yoru alone with Mikoto.
The moment they were alone, Mikoto could no longer hold back.
She threw herself into his arms.
"Yoru… I missed you so much."
