Chapter 58 - The Uchiha!

Early in the morning, Uchiha Han arrived at a secluded little shop in Konoha, waiting for Yoru.

Thinking back to what happened yesterday, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.

At the Uchiha clan meeting, the clan leader's faction had proposed that the Uchiha would not participate in this war.

The moment those words were spoken, chaos erupted.

Led by Uchiha Han, the pro-Konoha faction fiercely opposed it, angrily declaring that this was their village's war! For one of Konoha's great noble clans to stand aside was nothing short of a joke.

The argument escalated into shouting and table-slamming—something unprecedented in Uchiha history.

In the end, due to the overwhelming power of the clan leader's faction, the pro-Konoha side was suppressed. As a compromise, they agreed to send only three Jonin, ten Special Jonin, and twenty Chunin to the battlefield.

A complete joke.

As one of the founding clans of Konoha alongside the Senju, the number of Uchiha sent was not even a fraction of the Senju's forces—barely a tenth of what the Senju had already deployed.

Uchiha Han could clearly feel it—

The ambition of the clan leader's faction was growing wildly.

And worse…

At yesterday's meeting, he had even sensed killing intent.

If things continued like this, their faction would face only two choices: submission… or death.

Those people were already planning something—but such actions would only lead to destruction.

Yet they still believed the Uchiha were the strongest force in the ninja world.

Ridiculous.

A trace of self-mockery appeared in Uchiha Han's eyes.

The strongest force now was not any clan—

It was Konoha itself.

The Hokage's faction.

Countless clans were firmly tied to that power structure.

Meanwhile, the Uchiha remained trapped in their past glory, refusing to adapt.

What made it even more laughable was that they desired power in the village… yet isolated themselves from other clans, even bullying civilians.

How could anyone possibly support them entering Konoha's leadership?

Because of this growing madness, Uchiha Han made a decision—

He would speak with Yoru.

And for the first time… he felt grateful for his daughter's relationship with that boy.

"Uncle Han."

Yoru's voice snapped him out of his thoughts as he arrived.

Uchiha Han looked up and smiled. "You're here. Sit."

Yoru smiled and took a seat.

Soon, the shop owner brought out an astonishing amount of food.

Uchiha Han chuckled at Yoru's slightly stunned expression. "I heard from Mikoto that you eat quite a lot. No need to be polite with me—go ahead."

Yoru felt a little embarrassed.

After all… this was practically his future father-in-law.

Still, he didn't hold back and began eating.

During the meal, Uchiha Han laughed heartily, sharing amusing stories about Mikoto Uchiha's childhood.

Yoru listened with genuine interest.

After about an hour, Yoru finally put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth, and grew serious.

"Uncle Han… you didn't call me here just for a meal, did you?"

The smile on Uchiha Han's face slowly faded.

After a long pause, he asked:

"How much do you know about the Uchiha clan?"

Yoru inwardly thought, as expected, and replied calmly:

"The Uchiha, along with the Senju, founded Konoha. One of the strongest clans in the village—everyone knows that."

Uchiha Han let out a bitter smile.

"Yes… the glory of our ancestors feels like it was just yesterday."

His expression turned heavy.

"I already know about you and Mikoto. I have no objections. So… I'll speak frankly."

A cold light flickered in his eyes.

"The Uchiha have been powerful since the Warring States era. But now… we are divided into two factions."

Yoru asked, "Which two?"

Uchiha Han's gaze drifted slightly, filled with reminiscence.

"Ever since our ancestor Madara Uchiha fought the First Hokage, the clan's attitude toward Konoha began to change."

Pain flashed across his face.

"Many in the clan resent why only the Senju line can become Hokage. As one of the founding clans, they believe the Uchiha deserve that position too."

He let out a self-mocking laugh.

"But while they think that… their pride and arrogance keep them isolated. They refuse to interact with other clans—some even bully civilians."

"It's no surprise we were pushed out of the leadership. Yet they still blame the village, unaware that this is the result of their own actions."

"They've become twisted… unstable… and I don't know what they might do next."

He fell silent.

Yoru's eyes flickered.

"So… Uncle Han, what do you want me to do?"

Uchiha Han stared at him for a long moment, then smiled.

"I don't know."

"But I have a feeling… you're someone who can create miracles."

Yoru understood—this was a test of his stance.

He asked calmly, "For that goal… are you willing to clash with your own clan?"

Uchiha Han's eyes sharpened instantly.

"If necessary… yes."

The killing intent from yesterday's meeting still lingered in his mind like a blade at their throats.

Even a cornered rabbit would bite—

Let alone them.

After Yoru rose to fame on the Rain Country battlefield, their faction had already decided:

To use Mikoto's relationship with Yoru as a bridge…

And gradually align themselves with the Hokage's faction.

But they hadn't expected the clan leader's faction to become so extreme—so quickly.

To the point of considering eliminating their own clansmen.

So last night, they held an emergency meeting.

Uchiha Han presented his evaluation of Yoru—

That he was reliable.

And today…

They chose to lay everything on the table.

Because everyone understood one thing:

Yoru's influence within the Senju and Hokage factions was rapidly growing.

With his support…

The clan leader's faction wouldn't dare go too far.

Uchiha Han looked at Yoru steadily.

The air between them grew heavy.

The real question…

Had finally arrived.
