Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 Harvest Season

The road from the castle to Peach Blossom Village has been repaired, which is a good thing for everyone in the territory.

However, other roads have not been repaired yet because it is harvest season and the wheat and rye in the fields are ready to be harvested.

This was Ed's second harvest, and his first wheat harvest. He took it very seriously and arrived at the harvest site early in the morning.

Although there was some drought this time, thanks to the help of the Ed waterwheel, the drought didn't have much of an impact. The wheat and rye in the fields are growing very well, a golden yellow, and the ears of wheat are full. It looks like a very good harvest season.

The majority of those who benefited this time were men, because most of the women were already heavily pregnant and at risk of giving birth at any moment.

Harvesting crops is a major event for the territory, and everyone who could come from the territory came. Some people harvested the crops, and others transported them back to the village, so the whole harvesting process was quite quick.

Gradually, the crops became fewer and fewer, while the sun grew stronger and stronger, with the midday sun always so intense.

"Let's go eat at the canteen," Villager A said to the others, looking up at the bright sun in the sky.

Villager B straightened up and wiped the sweat from his brow: "Yes, I am a little hungry."

Villager C put down the wheat he was holding: "Tell me, what does this wheat taste like?"

Villager Ding looked around at them with disdain.

"What? You've eaten it?" The crowd seemed to look down on them.

Villager Ding stammered, "I've seen others eat it, but I've never eaten it myself."

Villager A clapped his hands: "Come on, the oxcart is over there, let's go to the Peace Hotel to eat."

"Ah! I forgot about that. The lord is truly amazing. Now the road to get food is so smooth you could practically sleep on it. The oxcart runs on it without any bumps. It's fast and comfortable to ride in this oxcart," exclaimed Villager B.

Villager C strongly agreed with his words:

"Yes! Yes! This road is simply wonderful. I heard that all roads in the territory will be paved like this in the future, including the paths in the villages."

"That's great." Villager Ding was less talkative now. He probably understood the saying that too much talk leads to mistakes.

The changes in territory are happening little by little, and the free lunches that were once unimaginable to them have now become a habit.

Perhaps before long, they will get used to the smooth roads they are now on, and when they go to other places in the future, they will complain about how bad the roads are and how the oxcarts bounce on them.

Ed watched as everyone rode in the oxcart towards the Peace Hotel; perhaps in the future, the oxcart would be replaced by other vehicles. But that was a matter for the future.

He still needs to go to the village to take a look, because it's harvest season not only here, but also in the village.

"Sophia, how are things now?" Ed saw Sophia outside Will's house, but Ed didn't know it was Will's house.

"My lord, there's no problem. Sister Will is about to give birth, the teacher is inside, and there are other people helping." Sophia was very confident.

"Sofia, come in here for a moment," Gisela's voice came from inside the house.

Sophia was taken aback. She had just told the lord that there was no problem, and now he was calling her.

"Sophia, what are you waiting for? Hurry up!" Ed was more anxious for her than she was.

Sophia quickly ran inside. Ed looked at Sophia, who had vanished from sight.

"Is this really okay?"
