By the time the Maybach pulled off the main highway and began navigating the narrow, cobbled alleyways of the old studio district, Nina had run through the entire sequence three times. She had every line, every pause, every breath memorized down to the bone.
"And scene," she announced, letting out a long, cleansing exhale as she snapped the script shut and shoved it back into her bag. She looked out the window, seeing the towering corrugated-iron roofs of the soundstages up ahead near the security gate.
She turned to him, a genuine, glowing smile lighting up her face. "Thank you for the ride, Lucas. Seriously. That was... actually really helpful."
"I aim to please, wifey," he said smoothly, pulling the massive car to a gentle stop near the curb, a few yards away from the main security entrance. He shifted the gear into park but left the engine running.
