Chapter 1 - Everest

"No ...."

Silence resonated around her. Her deep grey eyes gazed directly in front of her. Her tight ponytail draped behind her neck. Her pearlescent white shirt dotted with stains. The very blood stained of her black chihuahua that was now a mere puddle of flesh of bines. The Pagani Huayra that just took the apple of her eye from her reality. Off her right eye, a tear balled but not enough to roll onto her soft freckled cheeks. The eyes though.... they were covered with tears. The tears wanted to fall due to the grief she just had seen, but her brain didn't want her to believe it.

Slow and steady , the blood from darling Sparky splashed on her face. Her entire world just seemed to stop; death mocking her lby rubbing the salt of extra detail to her line of sight. In that pause the joy of her dog and the death she had not even processed cascaded within her. The result: PAIN. Brutal, unbearable, submerging, and oerwhelming. With that the tear dropped on Anna's face.

But then the world went on; forgetting that she was still crying. Her remorseless killer stopped and looked back. His eyes owned no remorse, to some eyes, he was surprisingly calm as his gaze looked at the car to see if any damages had been incurred.

Anna shot a glance at the now parked Pagani. The driver looked at Anna's perplexed face and realised his mistake. He pondered on his options but chose his most unwise: drive away.

Anna's heart fell but her blood was boiling. The seemingly Asian driver hopped back into his car as Anna's gaze turned to him. His eyes darting between the rearview mirror and his seatbelt handle, he knew he had to go lest Anna masters her number plate. He could see streaks of sweat on his forehead. His mind chanting repeatedly like a chanting cult-man, 'GO... GO... GO...' Each time with more emphasis and stress.

Anna's mind was asking different questions though

"How dare he? Why would he?"

But no line of reason came through. Silent whispers in her head darted around playfully. The hum they produced was too silent to source, but too loud to ignore. They reminded her of what the driver had done, and yet still choses to drive away. They reminded her of how cruel the driver had been to Sparky. Over and over, they'd say,"Revenge... Revenge!" They chanted louder. All the voices merging into a dark deep voice. A sinister sound within her that filled her up with reason.

Her vision dimmed. All she could focus on was the driver in the car: Death's new prey. Her irises acquired a blood red glow. An anger so immense filled her. It felt different: like a power, an entity, a desire that actually could be yielded. Something she had never felt before in her life. She knew what it was. She wanted to hate the resent in her heart. She knew her morals dictated that what she felt was evil. But this time it felt... it felt... right. She knew certain emotions carry enough power to transform even the sweetest of souls into dark twisted fiends, but it felt right, and powerful; maybe too powerful.

The driver began to speed off. His fear was the teen girl she just left behind might come after her for his act. But he noticed that the sweet girl was gazing at him from behind. He was intrigued by the look of her eyes. The deep red glowed so obtrusively it was all he could focus on. His attention went to driving and straight onto the girl. On the mirror, he could see a smirk. A smirk that grew into a smile. A smile that made her gaze appear as though fixed on the driver in the car from behind the mirror.

Then... A piercing scream cut through the air. Her hair started fanning out as a web. The band that held her ponytail flew off and the hair strands fanned Infront of her face. They covered her face but left her eyes perfectly clear. But behind her head the strands covered too. She looked like a dandelion of hair: beautiful with a deadly appeal. She was faceless

Her hand cut through the air as wind started to rumble at her call. The gusts picked up all around her and the car she was gazing upon. The violent purr of the car's engine became silenced by the load whistling of the wind around them. The driver looked at the girl, fear filling his eyes. The girl behind her mothed so gently, but her voice was as though she was right in front of him. With a playful smile she tilted her head slightly and mouthed and said at the same time in a dark and deep tone,

"Nighty night...don't let the coffin bugs bite!' She smiled as the driver's pupils widened more. With yet another playful wave off she said," Though I'm sure there won't be any of you left to fit in a coffin!"

This time it felt like a whisper. The plastered smile on her face made proof of this. The man felt his soul leave his body. His foot slammed on the brakes as he urgently tried to untie his seatbelt.

The rumbles of wind picked up. They grew louder and louder that as the man screamed and shouted, his voice was gradually drowned in the rumbles of the wind

Anna lifted her hand up. All the wind seemed to start rotating around her. Then she turned around in a full 360 turn and released her hand like she was punching towards the car. A wave of her grew in front of her. The tsunami of air went hurtling towards the car. The wind was no longer whistling. It gave of the sounds of millions of death's victims screaming as life went out of them; Death' favourite tune. It was the very sound of hell.

The wave cut through the air and found the bottom of the black Huayra. In a second the car was aloft and shot towards the thick trunk of a tree nearby, roof first.

The wave didn't stop though. The fun was just starting for Anna. She pushed her hand forwards towards the car as if physically pushing on the car.

The screams grew louder. All of it infused with the man's late plea for life. The tsunami was back with another wave, a stronger one. The car and its chassis was bending adopting the shape of the trunk. Then with a final push she let out a scream. The chassis of the car broke by half as the halves flew off towards the back of the tree.

The tree seemed to not be able to handle the waves immense force. It broke by its almost two metre diameter base. The top of the tree falling back onto the nearing houses with immense force. The roofs caved in and walls collapsed. Casualties were more than just a dead driver.

Anna shot her hands to the floor and rose mid-air propelling herself to the back of the Huayra, at least what was left of it.

With yet another swipe the car was lifted from the ground. A strong kick sealed the deal. The car hurtled towards the ground and compressed into a booger. That half was the driver's half. She taught the driver that she was fate herself.

Anna's face now had multiple swipes of red which rather complimented her red eyes.

But then... Anna's vision unblurred.

She was falling. With a thud, she hit her head on the ground. The tarmacked road meeting her cranium right next to the eye, not so far from the ear. She tried to rise up and see but her body gave in to the light headedness. Her head only rose a few centimetres from the ground and viewed the massacre in front of her

In her mind, she asked, "What just happened? "

Black...

Anna woke up to the bright head lights of her regional hospital, Pratik Medical Centre. The bright eyes practically blinded from seeing what was around. She tried to lift her hands, but couldn't. She had been strapped to the bed.

She called out frantically for her mother but received silence in return. Same did as for her father.

"Hello? Nurse?... Doctor?... Anyone?. What's going on?" She said with a tremor to her voice

Her head was spinning. She felt like a movie was playing in front of her. The realisation of the spine-chilling movie that she had just seen was her own work made her dumb. Then she arose from the almost surreal immersion of her dream and found herself screaming and tossing herself on a bed on the floor.

The entire room was turned upside down. Trays were all over the place. The medical instruments moved to all abnormal positions, others broken or even shattered. That is when she heard her mother cry from a far. Most likely behind the door. She thought of running towards her and seeking comfort in her arms but how could she?

She could hear her mother crying her heart out asking her captives to let her go but they just shushed her away.

"She is only 16, how could she be that dangerous that you strap her to a bed!?" Her father, Dr.Smith , asked her captives.

To that, he got was arrogant silence. Her mother kept on crying. This was piercing her heart. That's when she heard it. A silent whisper. Sweet to the ear yet mixed with many screams in its wake. It was like a hum, distant but still ever so clear. It had a grumble to it.

" Anna, you heard them... They don't like you Anna... Let them pay... Let them have their pay!"

Every sentence was pronounced in a beautiful stream of eloquence and clarity. Each syllable seeming like a perfectly placed line in a stanza. The whisper spoke; it lulled one into a trance. A peace of chaos, a defeaning silence that gave you solace.

She wanted to resist but just hated hearing the cries of a mother. The whisper was quiet yet so loud; it filled the entire room. She tried to reply but instead felt it enter her entirely. This time no blur or blacking out. She let it in, willingly. She gave in to its offer.

Her eyes regained the glow and the smile returned to her face. There it stayed. Then Anna spoke in a deep voice, a deep humming grunt that shaked the room. Everyone heard her, even her parents. The wind in the room picked up things around her, all scrap metals, shards, instruments, trays, surgical knives, you name it. The glass windows next to her broke to fragments. The shattered pieces were hurtling everywhere . The same voice reverberated everywhere saying,

" Then I am tied, now I am free"

A big, shattered piece cut through the air hurtling towards Anna. But it didn't slash her. She manoeuvred her fingers as if controlling the glass. The fragment cut her straps with one swipe of the fragment per strap.

She then stood up and faced her back. There stood a black door with a glass window with her mother a hallway across. She pushed on the air towards the door, and all the debris filled air rushed towards the door knocking it down.

She walked out and saw men rushing towards her. The smile grew wider. She started running towards the men. Behind her every debris in sight followed her. She then swooped and performed a kick the air in front of her and towards the men. The debris-filled air rushed ahead of her and hit the men in all directions.

Needless to say, most of them could barely stand up. Some lost hands and feet others had glass shrapnel deep in their livers and spleens.

Behind the men were the Smith's, her parents. Anna didn't know that. The shrapnel found their way to the Smith's. When her eyes caught what she had just done to her parents, she faltered. Her eyes dimmed back to normal. The gusts of wind around her settled to silence. The floating debris fell to the floor. Anna's shoulders shrugged. Her mind was all over the place. Tears balled in her eyes.

"What have I just done?"

She then collapsed.

Days later, the Smith's, after recovery, were forced to go and take the carcass of a 16-year-old girl from the morgue. She was said to be Anna Smith.

A week later Anna Smith was laid to rest

"Our Anna left us a little too early..." Mrs. Smith said during her funeral but broke down to tears. She had to face the fact: It was goodbye Anna.
