Stan drove back through the quieting streets, the Audi's engine a low, steady hum. He parked in his usual spot in the underground garage and stepped out. After storing everything he had bought at the Hub in his inventory, he walked toward the elevators.
He stopped just short of the doors, however, and tilted his head upward, eyes half-lidded as his senses stretched.
Camilla was back. She was on the roof of the building, exactly where she had settled the night before.
A faint smile ghosted across his mouth. He remained still, waiting.
