Ren lay on his bed, rolling from side to side as he tried to calm himself.
Even though he had acted composed while talking to his parents earlier, how could he truly stay calm? In this world filled with people possessing supernatural powers, being unable to cultivate would be nothing short of torture.
As he was thinking about this, the time slowly approached midnight.
The moment the new year arrived, Ren suddenly felt his body surrounded by a soft white light, and his consciousness began to drift into a trance-like state.
He immediately understood.
This was the Awakening Process that every person experienced when they turned 18 years old.
Time seemed to pass slowly.
Eventually, the white light faded.
Ren regained his senses, feeling as if both his body and soul had been rebuilt—stronger and tougher than before.
Then, a status screen appeared in front of him.

This ball of light was a newly formed treasure born in the Boundaryless Sea of Planes. It had been wandering through the void in search of a host.
When Ren died in his previous world, the treasure happened to be nearby. It chose him as its host and brought his soul to the nearest compatible plane—Edius.
However, during the journey, the treasure had exhausted most of its energy and fell into a dormant state.
Only during The Awakening did it absorb enough energy from the world to activate again.
It was also due to this treasure's influence that Ren had awakened the Bloodline Plant Lord Talent.
Since the treasure had only recently been born, it did not possess any intelligence yet, and most of its abilities were still undeveloped.
For now, it only had two functions.
1. SCAN
It could scan any lifeform or material, revealing all available information.
It would also store the information inside its database.
Based on the collected data, it could suggest the best possible evolution pathways.
2. OPTIMIZE
It could optimize any skill or cultivation technique, making it perfectly suited for Ren.
At the same time, it would greatly enhance the technique's effectiveness.
For example:
If a fist-fighting technique normally took one month for a genius to learn and increased strength by 15%, then for Ren it would only take one week while increasing his strength by 45%.
However, these are the only the ability available while Ren was a Lifeform Tier 1.
As his Lifeform Tier increased, the treasure would evolve as well—unlocking new functions and strengthening the abilities it already possessed.
Ren slowly sat up on his bed, excitement shining in his eyes.
"Worthy of my golden finger," Ren said with a smirk.
"With this, I can increase my level and strength much faster."
His gaze turned serious.
"I need to prepare myself… and protect the people I care about for the trial that will come in fifty years."
Then he chuckled lightly.
"But for now… I'm still just a newbie."

Ren stretched his arms and stood up.
"Now then…"
"Let's see what kind of goodies or starter equipment the school is giving its cute students."
