Percy shot him a deadpan look. "Because Miss Ivy is inside."
"I know that."
"Then stop complaining."
"I'm not complaining," Benny whispered. "I'm expressing reasonable concern for my continued survival."
Nico smirked.
"Survival?"
Benny pointed toward the ceiling.
"Look at this place! It's straight out of a horror movie."
A loose plank suddenly shifted somewhere upstairs.

Benny nearly jumped out of his skin.
"What was that?"
Percy sighed.
"The wind."
"How do you know?"
"Because ghosts don't usually weigh enough to make floorboards creak."
"You don't know that."
Teddy continued walking without looking back.
"If a ghost attacks you, let me know."
Benny hurried after him.
"You're making fun of me now."
"No."
"You absolutely are."
Nico chuckled.
"I never thought the man who once charged into a warehouse full of armed smugglers would be scared of an empty house."
"Smugglers carry guns," Benny argued.
