Lilian stepped inside, her blindfolded face turning toward Kyle. Behind her, Virgo stood in the doorway.
Her arms were crossed. Her face was pale. But her eyes—those calm, yellow eyes—were fixed on Kyle with an intensity he hadn't seen before.
"You are awake," Lilian said.
She walked closer. Her hand reached out and found his shoulder. Her fingers pressed gently against the bandages.
"You've been unconscious for four days."
Kyle blinked. "Four days?"
"Your injuries were severe. Multiple stab wounds. Cracked ribs. Blood loss." She withdrew her hand. "You're not supposed to be able to move."
Kyle looked at his hand.
He had commanded his body to heal faster. But that command came with a cost—it drained his energy. Made him sleep longer. Eat more.
But it's worth it.
"I told you, I heal fast," he said.
Lilian tilted her head and said nothing.
Behind her, Virgo shifted. Her arms uncrossed. She took a step forward. Then another.
