It hit Baldwin's shoulder and did almost nothing except make him turn his head for half a step.
Half a step was enough for Maeve to move, and not enough to keep her from being hit.
Baldwin's blade caught her across the pauldron and the arm beneath it, and she went off her feet sideways and landed hard on the churned ground and did not get up immediately.
