Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: A Place for Simps

"Since you're so eager to die, then I have nothing more to say."

Galeo walked down with a grim face.

In those few steps, he suddenly thought of something related to Xiao Feng, something from before he earned the reputation of being a good-for-nothing.

Back then, the entire Wutan City knew that the Xiao family had a freakish body-refining prodigy who could split bricks with his bare hands and shatter boulders with his head at the age of four.

    Damn it! I was careless!

Galeo thought to himself, becoming increasingly cautious. The gatekeeper wasn't much weaker than him, yet he lost so decisively. This Xiao Feng, who had never even made a move, suddenly seemed unfathomable to him.

Splitting bricks with his bare hands at the age of four... He must be eleven now, right?

He couldn't possibly be standing still!

The more Galeo thought about it, the more uneasy he became. He mobilized all his fighting spirit and went all out from the start!

Low-level Xuan-rank fighting skill: Azure Wind Whirlwind Fist!

A sharp whooshing sound rang out, and the fist generated tremendous wind pressure, dust flying all around, heading straight for Xiao Feng.

Xiao Feng's robes fluttered wildly behind him, yet his body remained firmly planted on the ground like a flagpole, unmoving as a mountain.

    "Die!"

Seeing Xiao Feng's immobility, Galeo assumed he was stunned by this fighting technique for the first time and wanted to seize the opportunity to kill him!

In that instant, he even had his reasons ready: Xiao Feng had challenged the prestige of the Galeo family and insulted the gatekeeper; he deserved to die!

Just as his fist was about to reach Xiao Feng's chest, Xiao Feng moved.

He shifted his feet, twisted his body, and his fist almost grazed his chest, the powerful force of the punch tearing the clothing at his chest to shreds, creating a sound like an explosion in the air.

    Oh no! He missed!

The instant Galeo realized this, a sharp pain shot through his chest, and he seemed to hear the sound of bones breaking. Before he could even cry out, his head slumped, and he fainted. A

    heart-piercing elbow strike!

Retracting his outstretched arm, Xiao Feng glanced down at his chest, sighing inwardly. He had been careless, underestimating his opponent.

Pulling out the invitation from the Jia Lie family, Xiao Feng casually tossed it onto the lying Jia Lie'ao, and said to the other gatekeeper, who was stunned, "The invitation has been delivered; we're leaving now."

"Attacking someone at the gates of my Jia Lie family? Where do you think you're going!"

A sudden gust of wind blew out from the Jia Lie family gate. Turning back, he saw another person there.

    Jia Liebi!

Xiao Feng turned and looked at Jia Liebi, squinting. "Clan Chief Jia Lie, do you want me to stay for dinner?"

"Insolent!" Jia Liebi roared, flicking his wrist. A blue, arc-shaped wind blade instantly materialized, whistling towards Xiao Feng.

The wind blade was over a meter wide, arriving almost as soon as the whistling sound was heard.

Xiao Feng's expression darkened slightly. This wind blade was incredibly powerful; even a fighter wouldn't fare well if hit by it.

This Jia Liebi… intended to kill.

Just as Xiao Feng was about to grit his teeth and withstand the attack, and Xiao Xun'er was about to make her move, a low roar of a lion rang out, and a black shadow appeared beside Xiao Feng like lightning.

The wind blade was already close, but the originally formidable attack suddenly dissipated in front of that person.

"Uncle Xiao Zhan?" Xiao Feng was somewhat surprised.

Xiao Zhan nodded slightly, then took a step forward, his voice filled with sarcasm, "Old man Jia Lie, personally attacking a junior at your own doorstep, you've truly disgraced yourself!"

"Xiao Zhan!" Jia Liebi's face darkened, a hint of resentment flashing in his eyes, pointing at Jia Lie'ao on the ground, "Your Xiao family committed violence at the Jia Lie family's doorstep, shouldn't you give an explanation?"

"An explanation? Are you senile?" Xiao Zhan sneered, "Two days later, my Xiao family will open its doors and invite all directions. If you want an explanation, you might as well come along."

After saying that, Xiao Zhan pulled Xiao Feng away, Xiao Xun'er quickly followed, and the others followed closely behind.

Jialiebi's gaze turned cold as he glared at Xiao Zhan's retreating figure before picking up Jialieo and heading back.

Meanwhile, Xiao Zhan accompanied Xiao Feng for several blocks before returning home.

As he left, he looked at Xiao Feng and said, "Come find me after you've delivered the invitations."

Seeing Xiao Feng's sullen expression, Xiao Xun'er felt much happier.

"What are you laughing at?" Xiao Feng lightly tapped the girl's smooth forehead.

Xiao Xun'er covered her head and whispered, "Brother Xiao Feng always bullies me."

Xiao Feng coughed lightly, pretending not to hear.

They went back to change clothes, then visited the Mittel Auction House and the City Lord's Mansion separately, all within half an hour.

"If it weren't for Captain Uzi leading the way, we probably would have gotten lost in Utan City today."

On the way back, Xiao Feng smiled wryly, seemingly only then realizing that this was his first time leaving the Xiao family's gates.

"Young Master Xiao Feng is too kind."

This continent ultimately reveres martial prowess, and after witnessing Xiao Feng's skills, Uzi's tone became a little more friendly.

"Captain Uzi, you should go back first. It's rare for me to be out here, so I plan to explore a bit more," Xiao Feng said.

"Young Master Xiao Feng, it's not that we intentionally want to be third wheels, but we just offended the Jialie family, and that would be too dangerous. If you really want to wander around some more, then let us come with you," Captain Uzi said with a worried expression.

    "Huh? Uncle Xiao Zhan?"

Xiao Feng suddenly looked in the direction behind Uzi, and the group turned around simultaneously, but there was no sign of Xiao Zhan.

Turning back again, there was no trace of Xiao Feng and Xiao Xun'er either.

In the alley, Xiao Feng released Xiao Xun'er's hand and slowly breathed a sigh of relief. "Really, it's clearly an LED light fixture, not a light bulb at all!"

Xiao Xun'er looked even more cautious, tilting her head to look outside, making sure Uzi and the others hadn't caught up. Her expression was slightly uneasy, but her eyes were filled with joy. "Brother Xiao Feng, isn't this wrong?"

Xiao Feng pinched Xiao Xun'er's nose. "You know it's wrong, yet you're still smiling so happily?"

Before Xiao Xun'er could struggle, Xiao Feng had already stepped forward. "Let's go, we plan to visit a few more places today."

Xiao Xun'er smiled, like a newly blooming lotus, and followed him with small steps.

    "Xun'er."

    "Hmm?"

"Galieo's bones are broken in several places, let him go." "

Brother Xiao Feng, Xun'er doesn't quite understand what you mean."

"Don't play dumb, you're not allowed to sneak over and do anything in the middle of the night, understand?"

"Brother Xiao Feng, I remember Uncle Xiao said you should go back to him after you've sent out the invitations." Xiao Xun'er instantly changed the subject.

"When you're happy, don't bring up unhappy things."

"Brother Xiao Feng, do you know the person in charge of the Mittel Auction House?"

"You mean Ya Fei? I don't know her."

Xiao Feng's gaze wandered over the shops along the street, and he blurted out the question almost without thinking.

A short while later, Xiao Feng suddenly felt the surroundings become much quieter. Turning around, he found Xiao Xun'er three meters behind, her delicate cheeks slightly puffed out, her dark eyes fixed on him, full of resentment.

"Ha..." Xiao Feng chuckled, turned back to Xiao Xun'er, took her hand, and continued walking forward. "You really are a jealous person."

Xiao Xun'er let Xiao Feng lead her, but her expression remained unchanged, only her cheeks puffed out even more.

She, Xiao Xun'er, was angry! She had to be coaxed!

Xiao Feng glanced back every now and then, his smile widening. This girl was quite sarcastic, making him want to tease her. "That Ya Fei has a great figure and isn't stupid either. I heard she's a core member of the Mittel family. If I could marry her, my life would be perfect!"

Turning back again, Xiao Xun'er was no longer looking at him, rolling her eyes and looking away, seemingly determined to ignore Xiao Feng.

    "Xun'er," Xiao Feng suddenly spoke.

    "Hmm,"

came the indifferent reply, indicating that he could hear her and that she could say whatever she wanted.

"If my appearance shattered your predetermined fate, would you hate me?" Xiao Feng's voice was calm, as if he were reciting someone else's story. "Even if I didn't exist in this world, you would still live well there. Someone you like would appear, and that person would like you back, and you would have a happy ending." Xiao Xun'er

was slightly taken aback, exhaling instantly. She suppressed her unease. "Brother Xiao Feng, Xun'er doesn't understand what you mean." Xiao Feng

stopped and sighed. "Walking in darkness, with a bright road right beside you, you want to get closer, but you can't control your direction at all. The more you try to get closer, the easier it is to drift away. You don't even know if what lies ahead is a road, thorns, or an abyss..."

Xiao Xun'er had never seen Xiao Feng like this before. He was always calm and confident, as if he had the world under his control. The Xiao Feng before her, although still as composed as ever, now showed an unease she had never seen before.

This made Xiao Xun'er even more uneasy.

She gently leaned towards Xiao Feng, wrapping her arms around him from behind, her cheek pressed against his broad back. Her voice was soft yet firm, "Brother Xiao Feng, although Xun'er doesn't know what happened to you, what you said was all hypothetical. Xun'er doesn't know what would have happened without you, Xun'er only knows that Brother Xiao Feng shielded you from danger. Xun'er doesn't want any 'what ifs,' Xun'er only wants Brother Xiao Feng. No matter what darkness Brother Xiao Feng speaks of, Xun'er only wants Brother Xiao Feng to know that Xun'er will always be by your side, even if it's darkness, even if there is death there."

Xiao Feng trembled, the warmth emanating from the gentle body behind him like a warm current flowing into his heart...

In an instant, Xiao Feng felt incredibly relieved, like someone accustomed to skyscrapers seeing the boundless ocean for the first time, filled with boundless pride!

At this moment, he sincerely thanked the original work; at least he knew what kind of person Xiao Xun'er was, and that's why he dared to say these words to her.

Then, he realized that there was such a devoted girl, willing to risk her life to accompany him to the ends of the earth.

Xiao Xun'er, the number one simp in Battle Through the Heavens, you win.

The ice has melted from your licking.

Xiao Feng gently pried open Xiao Xun'er's hands, which were clasped in front of him, turned around, and pulled her soft body into his arms. He buried his face in her dark hair, his breath filled with the fresh scent of the young girl, and murmured, "Xun'er, thank you."

Xiao Xun'er let Xiao Feng hold her like that, remaining motionless, her voice as gentle as a spring breeze, "Brother Xiao Feng, it's Xun'er who should be saying thank you."

The girl was deeply moved: Brother Xiao Feng, Xun'er is so grateful, thank you for saying these words to Xun'er, thank you for choosing Xun'er...

    "Hmm! Cough cough!"

Suddenly, a cough sounded not far from them. Xiao Xun'er seemed to be struck by lightning, her whole body stiffening for a moment. A few seconds later, as if she had just reacted, she struggled to escape from Xiao Feng's arms, her head lowered, her face flushed red, her little hands twisting and turning, her voice almost inaudible, "Uncle Xiao... Uncle Xiao..."

Xiao Feng, on the other hand, remained calm. He was an old man, his skin as thick as a city wall. Being caught having a puppy love? Shy? Not a chance!

Now is the time to hold my head high and puff out my chest, because I have a wife!
