Chapter 57 - Lewis’s Goal — Building a Floating City

Lewis's suspicion that he himself was the origin of everything was not without reason. Whether it was Harry Potter, The Witcher, DND, or Warcraft, all of them were worlds he had known in his previous life. And every "anomalous" element that had appeared in this world came from those very settings. There was not a single one whose origin even Lewis did not recognize.

Moreover, the magic he had developed was largely derived from those worlds.

As far as Lewis knew, The Witcher series did not even exist in this world. In his previous life, the games, shows, and adaptations all traced back to a Polish novel series—but here, not only were those works absent, even their author might not exist. Likewise, the once-popular DND tabletop game had completely vanished from existence in this world.

It was as if only Lewis alone understood the origins of these anomalies, these magics, these "travelers."

And all of them had appeared after eleven years ago.

In other words, before Lewis's arrival, there had been no intersection at all between these worlds and the Harry Potter universe.

Following this line of reasoning, every clue pointed to a single conclusion.

He—once Ye Ting, now Lewis Green—was very likely the cause of it all.

Of course, that was only his current hypothesis. As for the exact mechanism behind it, he had no idea. Perhaps the "information" of those worlds in his mind acted as coordinates, allowing this world to connect to others after his arrival. Or perhaps it was something else entirely. Without any real understanding of interdimensional or planar magic, he could only speculate.

But this was not something he intended to share.

If people like Cirila or Jaina ever found out that their displacement into this world might be connected to him, the consequences would be… troublesome.

"So, did you figure anything out?" Cirila's voice pulled him back to reality.

Looking up, he saw her watching him with concern.

"I have a rough idea," Lewis said calmly, concealing the truth. "Maybe something changed in this world's laws eleven years ago, causing beings from other worlds to be drawn here. I might have been among the first affected—and my ability to 'observe' other worlds could be a result of that change."

"That makes sense," Cirila nodded.

After a brief pause, Lewis asked, "Have you ever thought about going back?"

"Of course I have!" she replied without hesitation. "I want to go back more than anything. I miss my adoptive parents—Geralt and Yennefer. If you've seen my world, you should know them too. I want to know if they survived that night… and how they've been all these years."

Her voice softened, tinged with sadness.

Lewis gently patted her shoulder. "At least here, you're safe. You've grown up in peace instead of war. If they knew that, they'd be happy for you."

"Thanks," she said, regaining her composure. "You're a good person."

Lewis shrugged. "We're both far from home. It's only natural we look out for each other."

Then he added, "Besides… it's not like going back is impossible."

"What?"

Cirila grabbed his shoulders instantly, her eyes blazing. "You—you know how?"

"Not exactly," Lewis replied, "but I've seen something similar."

"In one of my observations, there was a world where magic wasn't limited by bloodline. Even ordinary people could learn it, as long as they had the intellect. That world never developed technology—instead, magic became the foundation of civilization."

"Powerful mages ruled everything. They built cities that floated in the sky, controlled the weather, shaped nature itself. Magic items were as common as everyday tools. It was a civilization built entirely on magic."

He paused, then continued, "And most importantly… they developed magic capable of traveling between worlds."

Cirila stared at him, stunned.

"…A civilization like that… really exists?"

"In what I've seen, yes," Lewis said firmly. "Just like your world exists."

"So interdimensional travel… it's real?" she asked, gripping his sleeve tightly, as if holding onto her last hope.

"Yes. But achieving it…" Lewis shook his head. "That's far more difficult than recreating simple signs. It requires not only immense magical knowledge, but also vast resources and manpower."

"I can reach that level of magic someday," he continued, "but the resources… we simply don't have them."

"Then tell me what we need," Cirila said immediately, her expression hardening with determination. "Whatever it takes—I'll work with you to achieve it."

Looking into her burning eyes, Lewis knew she had made her decision.

She was on board.

He nodded firmly.

"Alright."

"If that's your resolve, then let's start with a small goal."

He extended his hand.

"A floating city."

Cirila clasped it without hesitation. At that moment, the two of them shared the same ambition.

Then Lewis suddenly added, "Oh, and one more thing—I really wasn't an old man before I came here."

Cirila blinked, then sighed in exasperation. "You're still hung up on that?"
