Chapter 1 - "Brothers Of The Area: DANGO AND BANGO!"

Narrator speaks, "Dragon Ball Horizon takes place in a different timeline, one where Goku never turns good and instead grows up as a loyal soldier in Frieza's army. Alongside the three remaining Saiyans, Nappa, Raditz, and Vegeta, he carries out brutal missions across the universe, conquering worlds and wiping out anyone who stands in their way. But everything changes when the Saiyans decide they no longer want to serve under anyone. They rise against Frieza, kill him, and seize control of his empire. They take over the army and reshape the universe under Saiyan rule. Led by Prince Vegeta, the Saiyans are now in charge, and with this comes a new hero, one never seen in the main timeline."

On a distant planet, Planet Kōtta, home to the Kōttans, a warrior race with snow white hair and bright eyes similar to the Saiyans, though far more civilized in nature. A grand fighting tournament was being held, drawing massive crowds from across the planet.

The announcer stepped forward and called out the finalists. Two brothers. Dango and Bango.

Bango, age 15, stood tall at the center of the arena. He had curly white hair and silver eyes like the rest of his kind, dark skin, and wore a fitted green jumpsuit. He was much taller and broader than his younger brother, carrying himself with calm confidence and the presence of someone already seen as elite among his peers.

Across from him stood Dango, age 12. Unlike any other Kōttan, he had black hair and black eyes, a rare sight among his people. He wore a blue jumpsuit that contrasted with his dark skin. Even more unique was the tail behind him, shaped like a monkey's tail, swaying slowly as he stared at his brother.

The announcer shouted, "Remember, the fight ends when the opponent is unable to continue or concedes! This is the finals! It's still hard to believe these kids managed to defeat seasoned warriors, but regardless, the battle for the title of the world's strongest Kōttan of the year begins now!"

The brothers dashed forward, Dango smirking, Bango serious and focused. Before they could clash, a woman's voice rang out across the arena. It was their mother, Rita, a striking beauty with short hair dressed in traditional Kōttan clothing. She shouted for both her sons to give their all and not disappoint her. The crowd erupted, cheering even louder.

The brothers nodded toward her, determination in their eyes. Then Bango suddenly appeared in front of Dango, slamming his fist into his younger brother's face and sending him flying backward.

Bango followed up with a barrage of energy blasts, each one fired with deadly precision. Dango slapped them away one by one, recovering quickly every time, his movements smooth and calculated. Soon, he hovered in the air, circling his older brother.

Bango rose to meet him, fists crackling with energy. Dango called the attack cheap, a teasing smirk on his face. Bango shot back, his voice firm, telling him to always keep his guard up, no matter how skilled he thought he was.

Dango smirked, "I never had to do that for you."

Charging at each other, the brothers locked into battle. Bango launched a kick, but Dango met it with his own, clashing midair. Bango aimed for an uppercut, but Dango caught his fist effortlessly, mocking him for being too slow. Before Bango could react, Dango headbutted him, smashing upward and sending himself above his brother. He followed up with a downward kick, but Bango blocked it.

Then Bango grabbed Dango by his tail, spun him around, and threw him back onto the arena floor. As Dango hit the ground, Bango fired a bright yellow energy beam straight at him. The blast erupted across the area, filling the air with smoke and dust. When it cleared, both brothers were back in front of the crowd, but only Dango's clothes were torn and scorched, showing the full force of Bango's attack.

The two traded blows in a blur of speed and power, each strike landing with bone-shaking force. Dango was taking more hits than his brother, yet he kept grinning, quipping that he was just giving Bango a fair shot. Even as punches snapped his head back, he refused to lose that smug look.

The crowd watched in awe, cheering with every exchange as shockwaves rippled across the arena. Meanwhile, their mother, Rita, stood quietly among the roaring spectators, reminiscing about the countless battles and harsh training sessions that had shaped her sons and led them to this very moment.

The two battled on, both giving it everything they had. Blow after blow landed clean across each other's faces. Neither backed down. Neither slowed. Dango began to feel the effects of his earlier actions, the damage catching up to him. His breathing grew heavier, his vision slightly blurred. For the first time, a hint of regret crossed his mind, realizing he might have pushed himself too far too soon. Then, at the exact same moment, they stepped in and threw one final punch, their fists crashing into each other's jaws with a thunderous impact.

Silence.

Their eyes rolled back as both lost consciousness, their bodies falling toward the cracked arena floor.

As they dropped, memories flashed through their minds.

Years ago, Bango at the age of seven was already strong enough to defeat grown men. Their mother, one of the Kōttans elite, trained him personally and was proud of his talent. People praised him constantly. Dango looked up to him with nothing but admiration. At that time, Dango had not even begun serious training, and everyone believed he could never compare to his older brother.

Then everything changed.

Their mother began training Dango as well, though at first she did not expect much. But Dango improved rapidly. Techniques that took Bango months to master took Dango only weeks. His growth was explosive. The strange-looking boy who was once mocked for his black hair, black eyes, and tail began drawing attention. Praise that once belonged only to Bango slowly shifted.

The gap in power began to close.

Dango's confidence grew with every sparring match. The brothers pushed each other harder and harder until they found themselves here, standing on the biggest stage, the entire planet watching.

Back in the present, their eyes snapped open mid-fall.

In unison, they screamed, "I WON'T LOSE!"

The ground cracked beneath them as they forced themselves upright, unleashing another furious flurry of blows. The crowd roared, their mother screaming louder than anyone.

They reached the final stretch.

Then everything faded to black.

Dango's eyes slowly opened to the bright lights of a hospital room. He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his body, forcing him back down.

The door opened. Rita walked in with a serious expression on her face. For a moment she said nothing. Then she stepped forward and embraced him tightly, holding him close. She told him he fought like a true Kōttan, that his strength and spirit honored their people, but he had fallen just short of victory.

With a loving smile she said, "You and your brother did great. But Bango won. I am proud of you, Dango."

The scene shifted back to the arena. Dango lay defeated as Bango slammed his foot into his face, sending him crashing to the ground unconscious. Bango raised his fist to the sky as the crowd erupted in cheers. Rita watched with a proud smile, proud of both her sons.

After the battle, both brothers were taken to the hospital. Bango recovered quickly, as most Kōttans did. Dango, however, took much longer. It was unusual.

Once released, Bango made his decision. He would leave the planet to grow stronger. He believed that while Planet Kōtta had powerful warriors, it lacked teachers who could truly push him to the next level, no offense to their mother.

Rita understood. She allowed it.

She provided him with his own space pod.

Standing before her, Bango declared that he would return in three years, in time for the next tournament. By then, he expected to be far stronger, and he hoped his brother's skills would be sharpened as well.

With that, he stepped into his pod, the hatch sealing shut. Moments later, the engines roared to life, and Bango blasted off into space, leaving Planet Kōtta behind.

That was six days ago.

Back in the hospital room, Dango sat in silence. The pain in his body had faded, but the weight in his heart remained. He replayed the fight in his mind over and over. He had the power to win. He could have beaten Bango. But he had been too cocky. That arrogance cost him everything.

A single tear dropped to the floor.

Next time would be different.

The narrator spoke, "Our hero eventually recovered and remained on the planet for three months. During that time, he trained harder than ever before. He studied under his mother's former master, a man named Kuba. Though he appeared to be in his thirties, white skinned Kuba was nearly eighty years old. He wore a constant stern expression, kept his hair in a clean buzz cut with a short beard, and dressed in simple casual clothing. His teachings focused heavily on physical discipline, control, and mastering one's own body before seeking greater power."

Kuba told Dango stories about his father, going deeper into the kind of warrior he was and the discipline he carried. Dango already knew his mother had been Kuba's student, but hearing about his father from the man who trained him made it feel more real. Curious, Dango asked about his father's appearance. He had died before Dango was born, and all he had were secondhand descriptions. From what Kuba described, he had the normal Kōttan look, white hair and bright eyes, no black hair, no dark eyes, and certainly no tail.

Three months passed. Dango grew stronger. Faster. Sharper. Yet he never lost his confidence; if anything, it became more controlled and precise.

Eventually, he surpassed Kuba.

And just like his brother before him, Dango decided it was time to depart.

He approached his mother's old spaceship, now his to use. Inside, he noticed a healing tank built into the ship and grinned to himself, already planning ahead. After saying his farewells, he looked back one last time. His master and his mother stood together, waving him off.

With a roar of the engines, Dango blasted into the sky, echoing the path Bango had taken three months earlier.

Kuba and Rita shared a small smile.

Kuba turned to his former student, saying that Dango was remarkable, and wondered how her other son was faring out in the stars. Rita smiled and told him that wasn't his concern, thanking him sincerely for training Dango.

As she walked away, it was revealed that she hadn't been in contact with Bango since he left. Kuba called out her name, stopping her in her tracks. He asked casually about Dango's true father. Rita paused, but before she could answer, Kuba laughed and said it was only a joke.

A moment later, he was sent flying into the air by a sharp punch from Rita, groaning as she walked on without another word.

The Narrator speaks, "In the three months that followed, Bango traveled from planet to planet, growing stronger with every challenge. On one such world, he freed a race of enslaved people known as the Jolyons, bug like creatures who were oppressed by the Clebans, dinosaur like conquerors that ruled through fear. To the Jolyons, Bango became more than a warrior. He became their hero, their savior.

Before departing, they filled his pod with immense resources to support him on his journey, a gesture of gratitude for the freedom he had given them. And with that, Bango set his sights on the stars once more."

And so, with the universe as their playground and their strength ever growing, the brothers set their sights on the next challenge.

Thus concludes Chapter One."
