I slowly crawled myself into the makeshift shelter, and for a moment I honestly thought Reika had in fact somehow built it bigger on the inside. Then I actually got my shoulders through the opening and realized, no, she had just made a soft little trap out of stolen cloth, branches, leaves, and whatever survival instincts she still had left.
Two of the girls were already inside waiting for me, Celeste with her face flushed and her hands folded like she could somehow pray the embarrassment away, Reika stretched out with her tail swaying proudly, and Valka sitting near the opening to the shelter in a way that seemed off a bit somehow.
"You all want me? Now? In the woods?" I asked, lowering myself onto the bedding while trying not to look as excited as I felt. "What if something tries to attack us? We are literally out here doing ancient dragon prep and fake toll booth crime removal."
