Chapter 40 - scyte fun fight

In the eastern sector of the hangar, the atmosphere was slightly calmer compared to where Tora was rampaging, yet the tension in the air remained just as suffocating.

Altair stared at Scyte coldly.

"You think your speed is enough to defeat me, the leader of The Axiom? Years ago, you were nothing but lucky rats I chose to spare."

Scyte rested his wooden scythe on his shoulder, a faint smile forming.

"Rats that can now collapse your entire nest, old man. Want to test it?"

Altair scoffed. He kicked aside a fallen soldier's laser machine gun, caught it with one hand, and without warning unleashed a deadly barrage toward Scyte.

Tratatatatata!

Scyte let out a small yawn. His hand spun the scythe at a speed too fast for the eye to follow.

Trank! Trank! Triss!

Every laser shot was effortlessly deflected by the blade.Scyte smirked, channeling energy into his weapon.

He slashed through the empty air in front of him.

SRAAASH!

A crescent-shaped wave of energy surged forward, splitting through the remaining laser barrage and rushing straight toward Altair.

Altair's eyes widened. He immediately discarded the overheated machine gun and leapt aside to evade.

His hand moved swiftly to draw the hilt of his laser sword for a counterattack.

But the moment the blade ignited… Scyte was already beside him.

Spinning his body, Scyte used his momentum to deliver a close-range slash.

Altair reflexively raised his blade to block.

BZZZT! KRAAAK!

Though he managed to defend, the impact sent Altair flying sideways, his body smashing through three layers of station walls before crashing into a machine disposal area.

Scyte landed lightly, walking forward casually, following Altair through the broken walls.

Amid the pile of mechanical debris, Altair rose again.

His robe was dirty, his breath slightly uneven.

He understood now.

A direct contest of speed and physical power against this monster was suicide.

His tactical mind began to work.

"Impressive speed…" Altair muttered.

His hand slowly touched the metal floor, brushing against the wreckage of destroyed cyborgs nearby.

Instantly, his true ability awakened.

Bluish energy flowed from his palm, spreading like veins across the scattered scrap broken robots, titanium pipes, and shattered armor plating.

Within seconds, the metal lifted, disassembled, and reformed into dozens of spears, spinning blades, and steel missiles hovering around him.

Scyte stopped walking, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh? Hahaha… that's kinda funny. A scrap collector, huh?"

Altair swung his arm.

The storm of reconstructed weapons shot toward Scyte like a metal tempest.

Scyte leapt, spinning midair, deflecting them one by one.

But Altair fought with strategy.

He knew Scyte would evade easily.

As Scyte's attention shifted to the barrage of large spears in front of him, Altair manipulated a thin steel cable from a blind spot below.

The cable shot out silently

and wrapped tightly around Scyte's ankle.

"Got you!" Altair shouted.

He yanked the cable downward, disrupting Scyte's balance midair, then launched a massive sharpened steel pillar straight toward the young man's chest.

Yet even while bound and threatened, Scyte smiled.

His combat instincts kicked in instantly.

Instead of resisting, he relaxed his body and followed the pull of the cable, increasing his falling momentum.

He shot downward, meeting the incoming steel pillar head-on. A split second before impact, Scyte twisted his flexible body.

Using the pillar as a foothold, he kicked off with explosive force.

BAM!

The steel cable snapped under the insane recoil.

Scyte's body shot forward in a zig-zag trajectory, ricocheting off walls between the storm of weapons at a speed far beyond before.

Altair panicked. His eyes lost track of Scyte's movement. He tried to pull the remaining metal to form a shield too late.

Scyte had already appeared right in front of him. But this time, Scyte didn't aim for Altair's body. With astonishing precision, his wooden scythe swept downward, slicing through the flow of blue energy connecting Altair's palm to the metal floor.

TRANG! KLONTANG!

With the energy link severed, all the deadly floating weapons instantly lost power and crashed to the ground as lifeless scrap.

Altair froze.

His attack had been neutralized not by brute force, but by cutting off the very core of his ability.

Scyte had already landed behind him, pressing the cold blade of his scythe against the commander's neck.

"Checkmate, the leader of scrap Collector," Scyte whispered, his innocent smile carrying a deadly edge.
