Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In and out. Deep breath. Everything is going great, you can absolutely get through this shitty situation. The now named Zhu Hun Yu muttered to himself.

It's nothing big. You just woke up in a body that is not yours, with a family situation even worse than the one you had before, and as icing on the cake, you got sent to the Chinese Mythical Warlord universe. Isn't that just perfect…

Hun Yu stayed lying face down on the grass, lamenting his fate for a few more minutes before finally moving his ass when he heard a noise.

[Welcome to the Chaos Gacha!

The infinite chaos of the endless and infinite multiverse condensed and refined into the form of a Gacha available at your very fingertips! Maybe you will become a shapeshifting fire monarch, or maybe you will be a supreme tinkerer... or a supreme lady killer.]

"Great gambling it is!" he shouted while sitting up. "Please, please, please save my hide, oh Great Gacha."

[As a compensation for being thrust in category X universe, an All-Rarity ticket has been entrusted. With this ticket, all of the Wheel is available to you.]

"Well, no time like the present. Roll, please."

[Principle of Law]

Divine Skill

You possess the knowledge of the creator when it comes to the fundamental forces of the universe. You know perfectly how the laws that make up the world work and how to manipulate them to your desires. But this knowledge is too much for a mortal vessel, so the knowledge manifests as instinctive comprehension when it comes to all matters of life; the stronger you get, the more access you will get to the principle.

"Damn," he sat there stunned and gulped. "I guess I am lucky, hahaha," he laughed nervously.

Shit, doesn't that mean that my future rolls will be shit? Isn't Karma real in those types of cultivation universes? Bah, I will deal with this when it explodes in my face like always.

[3 gold tickets are given as a starting gift]

"Roll them, please, Gacha."

[Poltergeist]

Uncommon Familiar

A ghost that is capable of intervening in the material world with their psychic powers. They can throw around furniture and weapons to cause harm and are immune to attacks that cannot harm souls. You can feed them your energy to make them stronger.

[Lock On]

Elite Ability

Allows you to lock onto targets. When throwing projectiles toward the locked-on target, they start homing in on the target and become nigh impossible to dodge unless you get out of range.

[Overheat]

Rare Ability

You burn through your energy in exchange for greatly increasing your attack power and speed while increasing the potency of fire-based abilities but lowering your defensive abilities and recovery. The more energy you burn and the longer you burn, the hotter your body will get and the stronger you will get until your organs and brain start melting.

"So, two combat abilities and a familiar. Hmm, the lock-on seems great, but I need to cultivate first in this world; projectiles are probably energy beams of some sort—I doubt some haphazardly made arrows are going to cut it, same with Overheat, probably need energy first before wanting to burn it, eh." He chuckled.

"Well, Casper, come out buddy, please," he called out.

"Huh," Hun Yu stopped. "It's really Casper?" And indeed, the ghost manifested, looking exactly like his childhood entertainment.

"Can you speak, buddy?" Casper shook his head.

"Don't worry, man, I accept you even with your disability," he said earnestly, eyes gleaming with understanding. Casper rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Alrighty, buddy! You are my ace while I am still a pathetic little mortal. You're weak to soul attacks, but luckily those types of attacks are rare, so we should not expect them anytime soon." He stood with a flourish and slicked his long blood-red hair back.

"In the meantime, let me introduce myself. You have the privilege—no, no, let me correct myself—the honor to meet Zhu Hun Yu, street rat of Floating Cloud City as of a few minutes," Casper clapped.

"Thank you, thank you, no, but seriously, we are fuck—little buddy, no family, no money, no connection, and I only remember the big lines of the story. I stopped when big bad demon emperor Yun Che and Xia Qingyue fought and Miss Drama Queen jumped in the Abyss of Nothingness," he rubbed his chiseled jaw and spoke.

"So, let's plan. First, with my first roll of the divine rank, I guess I kinda am some Law genius, so cultivating should be easier, but first I need to test that. All my abilities rely on me having some Qi. You know what? Let's test it. I'm going to try to feel the world, you know, some Chinese wizard mumbo jumbo. Can you watch our surroundings, please, Casper?"

With that, Hun Yu sat cross-legged in a meditation position.

For the first time in his life, he breathed, and he saw. The world unraveled before his eyes. Threads, blinding threads, binding each soul to something greater than him, greater than everything. He saw them, he saw the laws, and the Laws saw him back.

He felt himself break and fracture. It was too much; Chaos was embracing him. However, how could a mortal ever entwine with Chaos?

So a mortal he was no more; a fragment of something greater fused with him.

He could taste the sweet venom of Death, see the blinding darkness of the Sun, hear the deafening silence of Thunder, smell the perfumed rot of Life, and touch the gentle violence of Time.

Chaos seeped between all things. Silent. Boundless. Eternal.

Countless truths assailed his mind.

His very being ruptured.

Zhu Hun Yu should have been no more; however, he Knew [You possess the knowledge of the creator when it comes to the fundamental forces of the universe].

So he resisted.

Not with strength, for he did not have it.

Not with technique, for he did not have it.

But with Knowledge and Will.

For at this moment:

"I… am Zhu Hun Yu."

He knew, and the universe knew him in return. And each soul felt it, mortal or divine.

The ripple of a soul who solidified in Chaos.

A presence anchored in Creation.

A being who had seen all the Laws and remained.

Blue Pole Star trembled and settled.

Zhu Hun Yu breathed, and his golden eyes opened. For a fleeting second, the weight of all knowledge was found in his gaze.

"Huh, what a weird-ass trip that was, little buddy," he said, looking toward Casper, who was gazing at him with a face even paler—which was quite an accomplishment, actually.

He stood and cracked his powerful back.

"Was I always such a peerless genius? …yeah, no I wasn't,thanks, Gacha," he muttered, flicking his eyes up.

"Alright, that was great and all, but what are the tangible gains now?" Hun Yu closed his eyes and tried to feel.

His body was perfect. His little stunt of anchoring himself in this reality gave him a perfect foundation, for he was a child of Chaos. Every pore of his was absorbing the Qi of the world; his profound veins were endless.

While examining his body, he could grasp a seed of the Law of Life, which was impossible for his cultivation level. That could only mean that his affinity for the Laws was even stronger than he thought. He couldn't use them, but sense and feel them he could—probably even know what element and path a being could and were walking by the Laws, clinging to them.

He could sense the people in the city while still on the edge of the forest. He could feel his Qi burning inside of him. He had nothing to compare; after what he went through, his Qi probably wasn't normal.

He slotted [Overheat] and found that he could only have one ability active. He switched to [Lock-On] and found a five-minute cooldown before re-switching.

Before he could do something else, a sound reached him:

[For cultivating for the first time, a silver ticket has been gifted]

[For reaching a perfect foundation, an advantage platinum ticket has been gifted]

[For achieving something never done before, a Mythical ticket has been gifted]

"Haha, yes, let's roll! Begin with the lowest one first."

[Novice Conceptualization]

Common Skill

Conceptualization is your ability to understand what shouldn't be; in essence, it is your ability to comprehend the mystical, magical, and eldritch. You have an easier time comprehending, understanding, and learning mystical and exotic effects, but so much above the average person.

"Well, doesn't it synergize perfectly with [Principle of Law] ? Very nice Mr silver ticket."

[Gene Refinement]

Epic Ability

Allows you to alter and improve genetic structures, reinforcing, cutting, and even overhauling them. And by proxy, improving and altering the body and even the abilities of the target, as long as it's based on their biology and genetics.

OR

[Hydro Pump]

Rare Ability

Allows you to create and emit streams of high-volume, high-pressure water from your body. These canons of water are strong enough to tear through concrete like paper.

"In this world of mystical beasts and inheritance, I feel like [Gene Refinement] is a no-brainer," he chuckled. "All right, the big one, finally! Gacha, I trust you, my goat," he smiled while closing his eyes and crossing his fingers.

[Sea Serpent of the End]

Mythical Ability

DxD - Allows you to transform into the Sea Serpent of the End, Leviathan. As Leviathan, a giant mythical sea snake monster, you can control all water in your range on a massive scale, being able to tilt seas and drown cities. You can create even more water serpents or summon rains that cause floods. All water-based abilities and effects are massively amplified when using it.

"I am going to faint. I always loved Leviathan more than Dragon," he giddily switched his ability slot immediately.

"Alright, fuck the plot! Casper, I got a mission for you! You are going to go into the city and rob blind every scroll that you can without getting caught. If it's too dangerous, abort. I am going to study them and create my own. I can't act in this new world as long as I'm weak. I got great power, but I need the fuel and bigger reserves, which means climbing the cultivation rank!" he shouted while Casper cheered too.

"En marche, Mon Ami!"
