The car rolled to a stop in front of a building, flanked by flowers on both sides.
"Stay here," Anderson instructed, his deep and intoxicating voice floating into her ears.
Rebecca gave a small nod as she watched him climb out of the car. Her gaze then drifted to her finger, and she blinked slightly.
There, lying on her finger was a velvety diamond ring. It fit her perfectly, and she swallowed, recalling the conversation she had with Anderson several minutes ago.
*Flashback*
"This..." Rebecca trailed, her gaze pinned intently on Anderson.
"It's a ring." He said, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
"I know." Rebecca muttered. "But why are you giving me one?"
"Your ring finger is empty. It shouldn't be."
"But—"
"No buts, Becca." Anderson interrupted her, addressing her with her nickname. "I should have given you this a long time ago after the old one went—" he paused, deliberating on what word he could use. "—missing."
