The front garden had grown noticeably quieter because where dozens of wolves had stood only minutes earlier discussing routes and exchanging instructions, there were now only the deep tyre tracks left behind in the snow as search teams departed one after another. Vehicles disappeared down different roads leading out of the neighbourhood while others headed towards nearby forests, country lanes and surrounding towns.
Every available member of security from the Aldrith pack had been given an area to cover, and despite the police not treating Azaria's disappearance as an active missing person's case, no one present intended to waste another second waiting. Christmas Eve had become meaningless at that point. The only thing that mattered now was bringing Theon's mate home.
