Kevin placed the ring he had brought on his cupboard. He composed himself, wiped his tears, and forced a fake smile onto his face, trying to hide his pain. Then he went downstairs to the hall and sat beside Ryan.
Ryan started telling him how he had found Sarah. He said that one of his employees had informed him a few days ago that he had seen Sarah in Kevin's hospital. After that, Ryan asked the employee to investigate further, and he found out that Sarah was staying at a doctor's house there.
Then Ryan turned to Sarah and said, "Sarah, don't you think we are getting very late? We should go home now."
Sarah went silent for a moment, and her face fell. She softly said, "Is it really necessary to leave today?"
Ryan replied, "Sarah, I have been living without you for a month now. I cannot stay away from you even for a single moment anymore. That's why you have to come with me now."
Sarah looked at Kevin with innocent eyes, as if her eyes were trying to say that she wanted to stay with him a little longer, spend more time with him.
Kevin walked up to Sarah and asked Ryan for permission, "Can I take Sarah aside for a moment? I want to talk to her."
Ryan nodded and said, "Yes, of course."
Kevin took Sarah to his room and made her sit on his bed. Then he gently asked, "Hey beautiful… oh sorry, Sarah… can I know why you've been so quiet since you heard about leaving?"
Sarah looked into Kevin's eyes and said, "Because I have grown attached… to this house, to the people here, to Eva…" She held Kevin's hand and looked into his eyes again, "and… I have grown attached to you too."
She couldn't continue further. She became emotional, and tears filled her eyes.
Kevin gently held her shoulders, like a friend comforting another friend, and said, "Sarah…"
But Sarah interrupted softly, "Please don't call me Sarah… call me 'beautiful'. I don't know why, but I really like that name."
Kevin smiled faintly and said, "Okay… beautiful. Look, Ryan has been very worried about you all these days. Now that he has finally found you, he has come to take you back. If you refuse to go with him today, his heart will break."
Sarah understood Kevin's words. She hugged him tightly and started crying. Holding onto him, she said, "I will always remember you… I will never forget you."
When Sarah hugged Kevin like that, his suppressed emotions also came out. He felt like crying too. He held her tightly in return, and both of them cried while hugging each other, as if they never wanted to be separated.
For a while, they just stayed like that, holding each other, as if time had stopped.
After some time, Ryan's voice came from outside, "Sarah, how much longer?"
Kevin and Sarah came back to their senses. Slowly, they loosened their embrace and stepped away from each other. They looked at each other and gave a faint smile.
Sarah said softly, "I should leave now."
Before leaving the house, Sarah met Kevin's parents, his sister, and then Eva. Eva was asleep at that moment, so Sarah went near her, kissed her forehead, and gently kissed her tiny hands.
Then she sat in the car with Ryan and left.
While leaving, she waved goodbye to everyone from inside the car, especially Kevin. But Kevin couldn't hold back his tears anymore. His eyes were filled with tears, so he immediately went to his room, locked himself inside, lay down on his bed, and picked up Sofia's photo.
He held the photo close to his chest and started crying. Looking at it, he said, "What is happening to me? First you left me… and now, when I gave my heart to someone again, I found out that she was never mine."
After some time, someone knocked on the door. Kevin allowed them to come in. It was his mother.
She came near him, placed his head on her lap, gently stroked his hair, wiped his tears, and said, "I feel very bad for you."
She comforted him and told him that he should not become weak like this. If not for himself, then at least for little Eva, he needed to stay strong.
Kevin listened to his mother and tried to gather himself.
On the other side, in the car, Sarah was sitting silently. Her eyes were filled with tears, saying a lot without words. Ryan noticed this.
He asked, "What happened, Sarah? Have you forgotten me and our love along with your memory?"
Sarah looked into Ryan's eyes and said, "First of all, in love there is no 'I', there is only 'we'. And as for forgetting our love… maybe my mind has forgotten our memories, but my heart keeps reminding me every moment that there is someone in my life who loves me deeply and is worried about me."
She paused and then said softly, "So… you are in my heart… and you will always remain there."
