Chapter 126 - Chapter 127: The Inside Man Betrays

While cracking the access control system, Ritsu had already taken control of the surveillance cameras at the main entrance and the first-floor lobby. Moving together with Glenfiddich through the cameras' blind spots, he pressed a button linked to his phone. The surveillance feed would freeze for ten seconds, but the timer would keep running, making it impossible for the CIA agents monitoring the screens to notice anything unusual.

Glenfiddich, who had undergone human experimentation, was indeed far more agile than an ordinary person. Combined with his height advantage, he moved like a nimble, well-developed little cat. In just five seconds, he reached the door to the emergency stairwell.

Fortunately, Ritsu's physical abilities were also exceptional. In eight seconds, he successfully entered the stairwell and shut the door behind him.

Lowering his voice, Glenfiddich asked quietly, "What's the next move?"

According to the plan, Ritsu spread out the floor layout in his hands and suggested, "It's better if we split up. You can use your strengths for assassinations, and I'll handle a frontal breakthrough."

"Heh~ I was thinking the same. You look like the type who'd just drag me down anyway." Glenfiddich twisted his body slightly, pulling a Vector submachine gun fitted with a suppressor from his backpack. "So, which floors do I take?"

"Floors below the eighth are occupied by ordinary residents. The CIA set it up that way to conceal their agents' movements. You take the 9th and 10th floors. Once you're done, meet me on the 8th. Sound good?"

"Of course. I'm heading out, then."

"Mm. Stay safe."

Ritsu reached out and patted Glenfiddich on the shoulder, actually placing a second transmitter on him. Glancing at his watch, he added, "Five minutes for the operation. Move fast."

"No problem."

"If anything goes wrong, retreat immediately. Got it?"

"Tch, you're so annoying. When have I ever had problems? You should worry about not getting caught by those cunning CIA agents. I won't come rescue you!"

"Better safe than sorry."

Glenfiddich made a provocative face, pulling down his lower eyelid with one finger, sticking out his tongue, even giving his backside a playful slap, before quickly heading upstairs.

Watching him step straight into the first trap, Ritsu smirked faintly and moved toward the eighth floor. There were no surveillance devices in the stairwell, making movement especially convenient.

...

After successfully reaching the top floor via the stairwell, Glenfiddich quietly slung his submachine gun behind him. Pushing open the door, he happened to run into a CIA agent in a black suit smoking in the corridor. Seeing only an unfamiliar child, the agent showed no caution and walked over.

"Kid, this is not a place where you can come up. Go back quickly."

"What if I say no?"

The harmless smile on the boy's face concealed the dagger hidden behind his back.

The CIA agent sighed helplessly and approached, intending to crouch down and talk to him. But before he could speak, the child, who looked about the same age as his own son, swiftly swung his right hand. A sharp pain at his neck sent him collapsing to the ground, clutching the wound in agony.

Blood gushed out in large amounts. The agent's eyes widened in shock, clearly not expecting that.

"What an idiot."

Glenfiddich stepped over him and continued forward, planning to knock on doors and eliminate his targets one by one using the same method. Compared to guns, he preferred knives. The sensation of slicing a target's throat was something he found addictively satisfying.

But just as he turned his back to knock on the next door, the CIA agent, who should have been dead, suddenly stood up, drew his gun, and aimed at him. Blood was still pouring from his neck.

Glenfiddich's eyes widened in surprise. He flipped backward, narrowly dodging the bullet. Confusion filled his cute face as he tilted his head.

"Why? Why aren't you dead?"

He had clearly severed the man's artery, there was no way someone could survive that kind of blood loss. How was this possible?

A door on the right suddenly opened. A man stood inside, wearing a gentle smile. Light stubble on his chin gave him a more mature appearance.

Hiro raised his suppressed pistol and aimed at Glenfiddich.

"Glenfiddich… surrender."

Black professional attire, these people really were CIA agents. Then how had his operation been discovered?

It couldn't be a flaw in the plan… which meant the insider responsible for support had betrayed them?

Realizing this, Glenfiddich's expression darkened. Today's mission would be difficult to complete, he needed to find a way to retreat.

As several doors behind him swung open, revealing numerous guns aimed in his direction, anger flickered in Glenfiddich's eyes. He hated betrayal. He also hated having guns pointed at him.

"Come with us. Back to headquarters."

"Like hell I will, go to hell!"

Glenfiddich leapt out the window. This was the tenth floor, after all. Before leaving, he tossed a fragmentation grenade into the hallway. As his body rapidly fell, he remained calm, pulling out a grappling hook from his backpack. Using the hook and rope, he successfully reached the eighth floor, Macallan's level.

"Hey, Macallan! You're not dead already, are you?!"

Bang!

The door was kicked open violently. Glenfiddich raised his submachine gun, ready to fire but it was Macallan, his body stained with blood.

"Oh? You're injured?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No. This is the traitor's blood. The insider betrayed us. We need to move, now!"

"Tch. And just leave like that?" Glenfiddich bit the pin off another grenade and tossed it into the room Macallan had just exited. He knew the dead insider was still inside.

After what they'd done to them, how could he leave the body intact?

"Let's go!"

Boom—

Taking advantage of the explosion, blending into the crowd was the best escape strategy.

The two successfully left the building, jumped into a car, and sped away. At the same time, Glenfiddich tried to contact Gin, only to find his phone dead.

"Damn it! My luck today is seriously awful!"

"What's wrong?"

"Phone's dead. Hey, lend me yours, I need to contact Gin."

Ritsu glanced at the rearview mirror, spotting two cars in pursuit.

"No time to report now, they're catching up and... I've got some bad news."

"What?"

"The fuel tank's been tampered with. Check the map and find somewhere nearby we can hide."

"That bastard must've done it, this piece of junk car was his setup!" Glenfiddich cursed as he pulled up a map on his tablet. Spotting an abandoned building nearby, he smirked. "Heh. Four kilometers ahead, take a right, there's an abandoned building. Feel like going big?"

"Sure. Memorize the building layout."

"No problem. I'm sending every last one of them to hell."
