One danger of walking around a popular street with many things to see, which Senne understandably liked, was that it was always easy to run into people I knew.
And one problem of not knowing many people for someone not particularly social like me was that when I did run into someone I knew, it tended to be a particular person that I probably would have been better not seeing.
"Hi, Bree."
The voice arrived in my ear later than a hug from behind.
"Hi, Abigail…"
I knew who it was without needing to turn around.
"Heh, how did you know?" she asked.
"How could I not know…" I mumbled.
I glanced to my side to see Senne, whose flame flickered furiously, but thankfully, it died down sooner than I expected.
"What are you doing here?" Abigail asked me.
"Just… taking a walk."
"And what's that?"
She pointed at the devil-shaped balloon I was holding in my hand.
"Oh… just some silly thing."
From the corner of my eye, I caught Senne's flame flicker one more time.
