Chapter 62
There was a subtle difference, but something felt out of place.
When I stored papers, I made sure to align the corners. But now, the papers inside the drawer were in a state of disarray as if they had been tidied up in a hurry.
‘Like someone secretly touched them and hastily put them back in surprise.’
... Someone secretly touched them?
Knock, knock.
The knocking sound woke me up from my deep thoughts. I closed the drawer and got up.
"Come in."
Maybe because of the thought that someone might have touched my belongings, my voice was sharper than I expected.
"Sylvia."
Apparently, it was the same for the person on the other side. Eileen appeared through the opened door, looking frightened.
‘Oh no.’
I smoothed out my frown, cleared my throat, and spoke in a softer voice.
"Eileen? What's up?"
"Um… Sylvia, are you okay?" Eileen asked in a worried voice as she entered the room.
"I heard you suddenly fainted yesterday. Are you feeling very unwell?"
