Sylvia was explaining everything she knew to the confused Kedrick when a familiar face came into view.
"Tev?"
Tev had grown more mature since the last time she had seen him a few days ago. He came shuffling toward her.
"Lady… Sylvia."
His voice was quivering. Perhaps he was scared because of the sudden turn of events. It was the first major incident he had encountered since coming to the Duke's house, so it was understandable.
"Tev, were you scared a lot?"
At Sylvia's gentle question, Tev bit his lip.
Of course, he was scared ever since he heard that she might have been kidnapped. Even when he found out on his way here that it wasn’t Sylvia but Eileen who was kidnapped, and that Sylvia might be at the kidnapper's den.
And also, when he was helpless to save her because of the mere thin barrier right in front of him.
He was continually afraid. Afraid something would happen to Sylvia. Afraid that he couldn't protect her. But then...
