After our grand feast of a meal, we sipped on fresh smoothies for dessert.
The group of men that had been stealing glimpses of us earlier kept getting louder with each cup of beer.
Their downright obtrusive gossiping tore through the noise of the bustling night market and reached our ears.
They weren’t talking about much.
Like men their age usually do, they were talking about one thing and one thing only - women.
They brought up the names of all sorts of women until they came upon the topic of who was the fairest of them all.
I never really understood why people were so obsessed with the looks of others.
The owners of the names mentioned on their so-called “list” probably couldn’t care less about where they stood in their meaningless hierarchy.
I brought my attention back to my cup of smoothie, thinking to myself how pathetic it was for those unattractive lads to think that it was their place to judge others by their looks when one of them shouted unmistakably.
