The scent that Zahid was burning was made of a variety of different medicinal herbs and it seemed that within that, there was something to help induce sleep.
I fell asleep as if I was basically drunk and slept deeply without experiencing a single dream. At one point, I heard a voice that sounded like it was on the boundary between dream and reality.
“Aerta, do you have feelings for me?”
A loving voice asked me, but it was a pointless question.
I answered half-asleep, unable to tell this from that.
“Uh… I don’t…”
I heard a low laugh that sounded like it was full of sweet feelings. I wanted to see who was laughing and what exactly they were laughing at. I wanted to know why they were so happy, but my eyelids were too heavy. I couldn’t move them, almost as if a huge lump of iron had been placed on them, so, I just tossed and turned a bit before going back to sleep instead.
