Chapter 10 - suit up for danger

Chan's facial expression changed immediately.

"Another job… it hasn't even been 48 hours since the first one," he muttered.

Well, he wasn't going to complain. That was what he had signed up for.

"Hey, Chan." Tyson wiped the blood from his mouth. "You're dead, Chan. My father runs this school."

Chan already knew who it was. He didn't even bother to look back.

He walked straight out of the school premises and headed to the riverbank.

He stared at his reflection in the water.

The man looking back at him felt… different.

For a moment, Chan washed his face, then sat down.

"How will all this end for me?" he whispered.

"What do I do to make sure my little sister and I will be okay?"

"Remember, you're not alone," Yommy said, encouraging him.

"There's a reason I'm here."

Chan stayed by the river until 6:50 p.m.

His phone rang. He looked down—it was Zack.

"Are you ready? I'll send you the details shortly," Zack said before hanging up.

A notification popped up on Chan's phone:

Target location: East District Warehouse

Time: 7:00 PM

Chan clenched his fists. "Always a warehouse… since when?"

By 7:00 p.m., Chan stood up and left the riverbank.

He hailed a cab and headed to the location.

When he arrived, he stepped out of the cab and walked into the warehouse.

Inside, two men in suits were standing by a table with a briefcase.

Chan immediately flashed back to the mission with Lee and Han—the setup felt eerily familiar.

His phone buzzed. It was Zack:

Chan stared at the message, confused.

"How does he want me to get his billion back? Is this guy insane?"

Sighing, he opened the case, took the card and note, and walked out.

He grinned lightly at the thought of getting a new suit.

There was a luxurious boutique he had always admired. He hailed a cab and headed there.

Minutes later, he arrived at the boutique.

The luxurious chandeliers glimmered, and mannequins displayed clothes worth thousands.

"Wish I could just be a mannequin for a day, freely wearing these clothes," Chan joked as he walked in.

"What a naughty boy," Yommy giggled.

A sweet, intoxicating aroma greeted him—the smell of luxury itself.

Chan walked to the reception.

"Sir, I think you're in the wrong boutique," the receptionist said before Chan could speak.

Chan sensed her judgment and felt pissed. He turned to leave.

"Hey, sir!" another female worker called out.

Chan turned. She was walking toward him, seemingly polite.

"Sorry for her manner. How can I help you?" she asked.

Chan's expression softened. She seemed to have been watching him since he arrived.

"Yeah… I want to purchase a suit," Chan said.

"Right this way, sir," she said, leading him to a private section.

"Yommy, show me the most expensive suit available," Chan whispered.

"Thought you'd ask," Yommy said.

A preview appeared: Stuart Hughes Diamond Edition (by Stuart Hughes & Richard Jewels).

"Hm… really?" Chan asked, impressed.

"Sir, we're here. Which edition would you like?" the worker asked.

"Stuart Hughes Diamond Edition," Chan replied.

The worker froze, whispering to herself,

"How can someone like this afford that suit? What a waste of time."

Chan noticed her hesitation but remained calm.

"Miss, is there a problem? Or is it unavailable?" he asked.

"Please, have a seat. I'll get the manager," she said, walking to make a call.

Minutes later, a bald, handsome man in his fifties arrived—the manager.

His presence commanded respect.

"Where's the person you mentioned?" the manager asked.

"Uh… he's—" the worker hesitated, pointing to Chan.

"I'm the one," Chan said boldly.

The manager raised an eyebrow. "You?"

"Yes, me," Chan confirmed.

The manager turned a cold gaze on the first worker.

"I think someone's losing their job," she muttered mockingly.

Chan stayed calm, watching the exchange.

"Follow me," the manager said, leading him to a secured room.

The room was filled with luxurious suits.

The diamond suit was displayed in a glass case with lights, sparkling brilliantly.

Chan's eyes lit up.

"You're the best, Yommy," he whispered.

"Sir, this suit is designed for the ultra-wealthy, stoned with diamonds," the manager said in a rough tone.

Chan ignored him. His gaze was locked on the suit.

"I want it. How much does it cost?" he asked.

"One million, two hundred thousand dollars," the manager replied.

Chan reached into his wallet and brought out the card Zack had given him.

"Here. I'm paying for it," he said.

The manager inserted the card into the machine.

"Hey, Chan, you didn't ask Zack for the card PIN," Yommy's voice said, laughing.

Chan's eyes widened, he quickly brought out his phone and dialed Zack's number after some rngs Zack picked.

"The pin is 2500" Zack said before Chan could even spill a word Chan was stunned.

"Thank you" Chan responded and hanged the call. "How did he know I'm calling to ask for the card pin or is he watching every of my moves" Chan asked inwardly.

"There you go sir, please put in your card pin" the manager stretched the machine to Chan.

Chan took the machine and input his four digits pin and to the managers surprise it was written boldly in the machine transaction successful the manager took the machine from Chan immediately and stared at it for some minutes still not convincing he checked the account balance and saw that the money entered his eye lit.

"So can I get my suite now" Chan voice cutting the manager from his long surprise, the manager smiled

"Right away sir" the manager said in a decent tone filled with much respect than earlier.

The manager brought out the suite and put it in a briefcase he walked up to Chan. "Sir sorry for the misunderstanding earlier do you mind if I escort you out, don't worry I'll help with carry the case"

Chan smiled and walked out of the room the manager followed immediately they got to where both attendant was standing waiting for the outcome to both surprises they saw the manager smiling and carrying a briefcase.

"Did he really bought the diamond suit impossible" the arrogant attendant said inwardly

Chan walked passed both attendants lost in their thoughts trying to figure out if he really bought the ultra-wealthy diamond suit on getting to the exit the manager handed the briefcase over to Chan.

"Thank you sir hope to see you soon, I'll be restocking with more expensive clothing" the manager said smiling wide

Chan took the briefcase quietly and left without saying a word

"So what now?" Chan asked

"Do you want to go back to your house or get a hotel to stay for the night?" Yommy asked

"Hmm that makes sense, yommy look around a five star hotel" Chan said.

"Done, The Polanco Hotel and suite it's meant for the bigger men not boys highly secured, good WiFi , has a pool and a very comfortable bar with a open view" yommy said

"So fast, well what do you think let's step on it" Chan said as he halted a cab and headed to the hotel
