Kaelen had been carried into the delivery room by Sane for two hours, and Sane stubbornly stayed inside, refusing to go out. His eyes were bloodshot, and tears fell uncontrollably. The situation was critical, so Nyx didn't chase Sane out, telling him to sit at the head of the bed and support Kaelen's body.
Kaelen was in so much pain that his mind went numb; he tightly gripped Sane's sturdy arm, digging out a few bloody holes with his fingernails. Sane acted as if he felt no pain, only focusing on helping Kaelen wipe his sweat, occasionally kissing Kaelen's forehead to comfort him.
Outside, the clansmen had no mood to work anymore. They sat in groups of two or three, their eyes staring tensely at the medical staff rushing in and out. Clean water went in, and diluted bloody water came out, making everyone's hearts clench.
