"He's not answering," Micah said, pulling his phone away from his ear. "Let's not bother him further. When he's feeling better, he'll be the one to call you back."
Adeline hummed softly, surprisingly agreeing without a fight this time. The exhaustion of the day seemed to have finally caught up with her.
"Order some dinner for yourself and try to rest," Micah said, pausing at the doorway. "I'll be in the room right next door. Don't even think about trying to sneak back to the residence," he warned.
As he turned to leave, Adeline spoke up. "You two can communicate through the mindlink, can't you? Why don't you just use that to check on him?"
