Vivian waved at Adeline from the open window of the car. "I'll come by tomorrow as well," she called out.
"Sure," Adeline waved back, watching the vehicle as it wound its way down the long driveway. Instead of heading back into the palace, Adeline turned toward the expansive garden, tightly holding her phone. The evening air had turned notably cooler, making it much more comfortable for her to walk along the manicured lawn.
She switched on her phone screen and dialed Caelum's number. A few moments later, the line clicked as the call was answered.
"Hi, Caelum. It's me, Adeline."
"Yes, I recognized your voice," Caelum said, lowering himself into a chair in his room. "Did you two return safely?"
"Yes, we did," she replied.
