"Let's go, Takeru." Alika said, "And don't forget to tip toe, cause if it wakes up, we're dead."
They got out of the forest and started sneaking to the other side.
They moved silently as if they were ninja, each step making no sound.
The most little of noise would cause the dragon to awaken from its sleep. They knew what was at stake, their lives.
They passed through the dragon and were close to reaching the other side, the other forest which led to their safety, but then,
CRACK!!!
Alika accidentally stepped on a branch.
'Shit!!!!' Their thoughts synced at that moment when they knew, they fucked up.
They froze in place so they wouldn't make another sound and risk adding to the sound of the branch.
The dragon opened its eye a little, and it caught a glimpse of them, but it was too sleepy to see clearly,and it went back to sleep.
'Whoa!' A sense of relief filled them, their hearts beating at a normal pace once more, but suddenly,
CRACK!!!
Takeru stepped on a branch himself, and his breath caught his lungs.
This time the dragon fully opened it's eyes, it stood straight, and glared at them with a menacing deadly look.
Alika was paralyzed, she stood in place as if she had seen a ghost.
'I didn't notice it when I swooped in and saved Takeru, but now I do, that dragon is a…' Alika couldn't finish her thought because Takeru shouted, "Ruuuuuuun!!!" and woke her up.
He grabbed her by her hand and ran towards the forest, but then the dragon blocked their path with a wall of fire.
"You've gotta be kidding me," Takeru said, before running with Alika back to the forest they came from.
But then the dragon trapped them with it in a circle of flames.
"I thought that you disappeared, kid, but I didn't notice that fairy saving you, but now there is no escape." The dragon's menacing voice dancedthrough his head.
"Alika, how do we get past these flames?" Takeru asked.
"Magic disappears when the user dies… so the only way… to get past is to kill the dragon." She responded, her lips trembling, and her body shivered in fear.
"Wellncan't you fly us out of here?" Takeru suggested.
"Can't do that, this dragon's flying abilities surpass mine, and if we get spotted, there will be many more on our tail, we'll never escape in the air." She explained.
'Damn it, all of our options have been closed. There's nothing more we can do but to fight.' He thought.
Alika was also in deeps thoughts, thinking why she decided to save Takeru in the first place, why she didn't leave him alone, but when she heard Takeru shouted.
"Alika!" It brought her back to reality.
"I'm pretty sure that you're thinking, why did you save me, but I wanted to tell you I'm great full to you." He snapped a smile at her, something he thought he had lost.
Back when they were waiting for the dragon to fall asleep, before he fell asleep himself, he took hard branches from the tree and shaped them pointy to use as weapons.
He was carrying four of them on his back, just in case the dragon woke up.
He took out two of them and prepared himself to go into battle with it.
"Alika, you have my back?" He asked.
Alika's eyes glowed with a bright pink ray of light. She gripped her wand and pointed it at the dragon.
"Yeah, I got your back, and your front." She said, with a gleaming fragrance of determination.
The dragon couldn't help but laugh at their faces.
"How I want to bring despair to those determined faces, it's giving me goosebumps!" The dragon's mouth curved into a smirk.
Takeru engaged the dragon into battle.
He ran towards it at full speed, his athletic skills were very impressive, his speed far surpassed that of a normal person.
The dragon waved its claw at him, and a giant wind blew to his direction, but he dodged it and climbed on top of it.
WATER MAGIC: WATER BALL BLASTS!!!
Alika showered the dragon with water blast, but they were not very effective at dealing damage, but they worked well as distractions.
While the dragon's attention was fixated at the blast, it didn't notice Takeru sneak up on it from the left.
He built momentum by swimming, and then he threw one of the branches at the dragon's eye.
Blood spat!
"You bastard!!" The Dragon roared, and the pressure pushed Takeru away.
He safely landed to the ground and stood next to Alika.
"You see that, I got it's eye." Takeru smirked.
"No, getting its eye doesn't mean anything. The eyes can just regenerate."
"What!!!" Takeru reacted to this new piece of information.
"GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" The dragon mocked him with laughter.
"I'll be honest with you, you aren't that strong, but you are strategic and fast, that alone makes you more superior to many faries, but against a mighty dragon like me," It smirked.
"YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A MERE INSECT!!" It's voice got even deeper.
"Now burn!!"
It unleashed it's flames at them, but both of them were able to evade it.
Takeru ran towards it again at full speed, hard even for the dragon to predict his movement. It kept hitting the ground in an attempt to kill him, but he kept evading.
It charged up flames to burn him, but Alika did not allow it.
WATER MAGIC: WATER BEAM!
She unleashed a powerful beam of compressed water magic, and the dragon reacted to her attack and clashed with its flames.
Alika used all of her magic to try and push back the Dragon, but the flames were too overwhelming, and they pushed her back.
Alika was forced to dodge the attack, but she gave Takeru more than enough time to get on the dragon's back.
In between the scales there was a small gap, enough to a stick.
He placed it there, and he started spinning it on top of the Dragon, and its skin started burning.
"What are you doing?!" The dragon asked, it's back started burning, and it tried shaking him off, but it just made it worse, the fire quickly spread in it's back.
"Rooaaaaar!!" The dragon's scream filled the air, the fire grew larger and engulfed its back.
"Wooow!" Takeru could not believe his eyes. "I made such a big flame?"
"Alika, don't relax just yet. Our job is not done." He said, "If I'm right, the dragon doesn't have any scales on it's stomach,and since it's on fire, it's gonna roll over, and that will be your chance."
And just as he thought the dragon rolled over in an attempt to extinguish the fire, "Now!" he said, and Alika dashed to it.
She activated her magic and aimed at the dragon's stomach, but before she could unleash her attack, she saw something awfully familiar in the dragon's eyes.
That led her to hesitate, and BANG! The dragon hit her away, but after her, Takeru appeared.
He did not hesitate. He took out the two remaining sticks and built momentum with front flips.
He landed his attack on the dragon's stomach, but the sticks broke, and the dragon was not injured.
"Damn it! I didn't think that a dragon's normal defenses were this strong." He cursed.
The dragon rolled over and stood up.
"Damn You! Enough toying with you, nobody burns my back like that, you'll pay!!" The dragon sweared.
It opened its mouth wide and charged a flame from inside.
"We're dead, that power is a CHARGED DRAGON FLAME! It will annihilate everything within this direction." Alika said, sweat falling from her.
The flames had not been released, but the air was already burning, but this time Takeru didn't have that much of a problem breathing, but he felt the intense heat.
"Alika, I got one last plan." He said before he charged straight for it.
"Takeru wait! Please don't do anything suicidal!" She begged.
Takeru used all the power he had and ran as fast as possible, and when he was underneath the dragon's jaw, he crouched down to jump.
He transferred all of his muscles to his legs, and he did a magnificent jump, and at the last moment of fire, he hit the dragon's jaw with a kick, and force closed it's mouth, but the blast did not stop.
With the dragon's mouth closed, the blast blew it up from the inside, it's insides were scattered, and its blood covered everywhere.
'No way, hw just a killed the fire dragon, where does this guy come from. He didn't even use magic.' Alika thought, dazzled.
"Takeru you did it!" Alika excitedly cheered for him.
His legs were tired, and he wouldn't be able to land safely when he fell to the ground, but Alika caught him.
His whole body was covered with the blood of the dragon, and Alika was covered by it as well. Their faces would be barely recognizable.
The wall of flames faded away, and Alika ran into the forest with Takeru in her arms, before the guard dragon's could reach to the scene.
