Front the corner of the room Zephyr live, a being with countless maws together with it's crown keep mumbling.
For unknown reason the being is criticizing the place Zephyr live in. Making zephyrs face twitched.
A Wisp!" Zephyr composed himself after being shocked from what happened. Yes! the thing that is floating and criticizing is a wisp!
Wisp are the core foundation of power, they are the source of power for most of the beings.
What shocked zephyr is that. The Wisp talked!
Wisp are known for not being able to speak at an early stage, they can only express their feelings through movement and thought.
But the wisp Zephyr got, can talk! He quickly regain his composure and ask a question.
" What are you? Why can you speak?" Zephyr questioned the one bugging him the most.
" Isn't it oblivious? Because I am strong!" The Wisp said while having a smug face.
Zephyr face twitched because of how brazen the Wisp claimed. Yeah it's shocking to know that a Wisp can speak, but all wisp can speak at higher stage and it's common sense for everyone.
What cause zephyr to crack face because how the Wisp claimed that he's strong just because he can speak! That's just too absurd, right?.
Zephyr believe in the saying that the one who bark louder is the one who is weaker!
" You are just blind to see my magnificence" Feeling annoyed the wisp said
" No.. no.. no!! I can see your brilliance clearly" zephyr said while forcing not to laugh.

" Hehehe, my name is Maw. The conquerer, devourer and One of the "???". Bear that in your mind human" The wisp who is called Maw said.
"Ahhhhghh!!" An earth shattering headache assaulted in zephyr's mind. For unknown reason, just hearing the name and title of Maw is so dangerous that might kill him just knowing it.
"Hah.. ha.. haa" after sometime zephyr got his bearing.
"So you're name is Maw." Zephyr said while still clutching his temple's
His mind went overdrive just thinking who the heck is the wisp he is talking. Its origin and if what he is claiming is true.
Still he composed himself. He knows that wisp choose their future partners with enough interest, still building bond will not just randomly happen.
They will not blindly select, the being they want to be partner with must be within their standard but some wisp that are desperate may choose as long as they survive.
It's just the interest if both are willing to bond, but in most cases humans don't have to think twice before bonding because the success rate of surving trials are very slim.
Also if both the being and wisp don't have any resonance, which is likely not to happen. The wisp will go back to where they came from. While the being will take another trial to get another wisp.
Why would you choose another wisp knowing that awakening is within the grasp?!, making them stronger than dormant humans thus gaining the authority and power.
Power means money and Zephyr needs money. Being looked down every time just because of your standing is hard to swallow.
Zephyr live being an orphaned at a young age , he survived while living in a worst environment. He is lucky enough to live in a half destroyed place because most of the people who are not lucky enough they live in sidewalks, dark corners and even in sewers knowing that they might die anytime.
This is the reality. Powerful and rich people prosper while others are scrapping even shit just to live and see another day.
The great invasion happened 10 years where countless people died.
The planet Earth was already destroyed one year after the invasion from other lifeforms also known as fallens, that cause havoc and destruction. That great invasion also made the life of Zephyr into hell, his parents was killed and his only younger brother was also taken, he don't know where he is.
Even though the Earth was destroyed, billions of people died, some great things also occurs.
Humans are known for being powerless but because of the emergence of invasion, humans slowly adapt.
Champions emerge and fought to reclaimed some part of the planet. Within the unfathomable vast world everyone has a chance to climb higher, through blood, sweat, and tears.
Bloody war, brutal siege, and crucible sacrifices are spices to seat to the power.
Humans are known for being dormant, without any power just a normal disposable thing but with the help of trials, Wispers or also known as Wisp Holder emerge

Even Thralls are barely affected by those weapons not to mention those Reavers and other horrors.
The invasion is not the worst part because during the invasion the Ascent also occurs. Billions of humans who are chosen with age 17 above are teleported to take trials. Other's are lucky
The challenge that was considered as suicide for every mere humans, billions died just from those trials making the population smaller.
But.. humans are hard to kill, they strive, learn and survived.
Even though most of the people who got teleported and forced to take trial died, some emerge victorious. Those champions pave their own path, they created their own legacy.
The Earth is now part of the of the unfathomable vast world that no one understand. Just like a small chunk of piece that is put and merged.
