Chapter 8 - Natural occurence

While Uriel and his savior are having a heart to heart moment. The seawater suddenly rippled violently, creating a big enough wave to crash onto the ossythe side.

The creature wailed, while tilting slighty, Uriel staggered in his feet, while the seawatcher fell just beside the ossythe outer bones. The blondie hand that was holding on to his glimmer fish accidentally slipped, the fish landed on the Ossythe's rough skin with a soft thud. Its body flapped three times, each movement pushing it closer to the creature's curved edge

"My fish!" Uriel leaped toward his first creation, just before the glimmer fish dangle on the edge of the oval shape ossythe, Uriel swiftly catches his fish, as it started flapping again on his palm. After securing the glimmer fish safety he breath a sigh of relief and got up in his feet.

"Woah....That was a close one!" Uriel wanted to tell seawatcher that he almost lost his golden fish, but he quickly stop after turning his head towards the mantle man and seeing him looked distressed, his head darting in every location in the distant sea. As if he's looking for something.

"Seawatcher, are you ok?" The blondie ask, while walking towards him. "No.....This keep happening...." Uriel posisition himself beside his buddy and put a hand on the watcher shoulder. "Was it the wave? I thought it was a normal thing here"

The cloaked figure slightly looked over at Uriel, than eyes dropped down to see him still holding on to that burden of a fish. He grabbed the walking stick that was still laying beside him and pulled one of the many oval shape pouch, that was hanging just beside the glowing lantern. Than he tossed it toward the blondie.

"A pouch? Why are you giving me this for?" He examine the cute dandelion colored sack, the bag was small, almost the same size of his hand but a bit bigger. "For that fish of yours, you can't just carry it all around you" After saying that, he shifted his gaze towards the opposite of the sea next to Uriel.

The boy was grateful that seawatcher was concerned about him. He would've love it if the bag was a little bigger tho, since seeing the comparison between the fish and the bag, with the crescent shape fish being slightly wider.

But the boy didn't want to tell Seawatcher about it, cause doing so will be rude. So he just forced the hollow eyes fish to fit inside the pouch. After a couple rustling with the flopping fish, Uriel finally manage to get it inside. He peaked inside the pouch with his eyes, and see the fish keep fluttering.

"Poor you....I can't leave you like this....." He scooped up a small amount of dark ichor water inside the dandelion bag, lucky for Uriel, the pouch seems to be water resistant, allowing the fish to happily swim in circular motion while being trapped in a knitted leather.

"Damn....I'm such a nice person!" He looked over at Seawatcher, hoping to see his buddy has calmed down a bit, but instead, the watcher seems to be more distressed on whatever inside his mind.

The blondie think that he shouldn't carry such a heavy thought in his mind. Thus he goes up to seawatcher, so his savior can opened up more.

"Hey pal! Nice meeting you here—" His attempt was cut off when Seawatcher's hand shot up, his finger pressing gently but firmly against Uriel's mouth. The blondie's words died in his throat. Watcher hood tilted toward the water. "Shh. I'm trying to listen to the sound of the wave"

After his partner retreated his hand away from Uriel lips, the boy followed along with his head tilting in the same direction as him. He try to remain focus, but the sound of the water clashing against each other made the blonde boy extremely bored.

"Can you just tell me what were listening to?" Uriel was ignored when seawatcher heard an unsual sound coming from the far space. He pointed his walking stick, with the help of the lantern illuminating the void distance, after conforming the spot, he than spoke inside the hood.

"North....Now it's coming from the north"

"What?" Uriel exclaimed, Seawatcher turn back to see a blonde boy looking very confused, he sighed and finally explain everything to Uriel.

"The wave...It keep happening, and i don't know why" The boy raises his brows, he didn't understand what that mean, since he thought that the violent wave were a natural thing inside this gloomy sea.

"The sea keeps getting more violent with each passing second. Before I found you, me and Ossythe barely avoided a huge tsunami coming from the south." Seawatcher's voice dropped lower. "I've been watching and carefully observing it. The wave doesn't move like a normal current. It circles. Clockwise. At first it was slow, but it became abnormaly faster so suddenly." He turned his hood toward the northern horizon. "And it's heading north. Right where we are."

Uriel stomach dropped hearing what his buddy just said, the thought of a huge tsunami completely made his heart racing, knowing that it could bring dangerous monster that was lurking inside the water.

"How do you know all of this tho?" He asked, and the seawatcher quickly replied back.

"I know it from hearing the harsh clashes of the sea. You could hear it too, if the waves sounded more violent in a certain direction, then that's a huge chances for the early sign of a tsunami."

After taking in all of watcher information. He tilt his head slighty to the northern part of the ocean, and can quickly notice the diffrence between the east side and the north side. With the east having more moderate and slow waves, compare to the north, in which you could always hear the water viciously splashing down with eachother, creating an echo in the distance.

"Ah, i understand now"

While hearing the water clash among themselves, Uriel unexpectedly heard a faint moaning sound. It cut through the noise of the waves. The sound was low and grumbly, vibrating in his chest more than his ears. It wasn't the wind. It wasn't Ossythe. It was something else.

The sound rose slowly, held for a moment, then faded—only to rise again. It had the quality of a siren's song: mournful yet haunting and almost beautiful. But there was something wrong with it. It was af if, the sound was calling something.

He tried to focus more carefully on the sound, until seawatcher gently pressed his hand onto Uriel shoulder, he than gripped it tightly without saying a single word.

"Uriel....." Seawatcher voice was weirdly quite and shaking, despite his previous deep tone.

"What is it?" Uriel brushes seawatcher hand off, but he keep tugging on the blondie crimson tunic. "URIEL..." Now the cloaked man sounded like he wanted to scream but in the quitest way possible, he kept on tugging on the blondie clothes, Just when uriel stop tilting his head to the side, he looked at seawatcher, who's hood was looking up in the sky with his body not moving a single inch.

Confused, Uriel follow along his gaze, and what he saw made his eyes widened. In front of Ossythe, just a few inches away from them, was a creature that made the tsunami feel like a warning.

Uriel couldn't see its head. He couldn't see where it began or where it ended. All he could see was its long serpentine body, which was impossibly vast, forming a massive circle that rose half out of the black water. The creature stretched in a straight line, curving around them like a wall of living flesh. It was like a train made of scales and muscle

Its skin was midnight black, darker than the Gloom Sea itself, absorbing the lantern's amber light instead of reflecting it. Rough scales covered every inch, scraping against each other with a sound like grinding stone.

The ossythe had stopped swimming, the creature was waiting for it owner command, but seawatcher didn't even spoke any word, nor does the blondie. All they heard was the sound of a violent water in the distance, and the echo siren of a mysterious sea monster
